Server log threw the 137 error and ffmpeg log just stops with really no info. But yes 4.8 introduced lots of subtitle specific issues the devs need to address but have mentioned in other topics they are looking into it.

Except it never transcoded. There was a log, and an attempt, but no playback And with subtitle extraction enabled, there is no transcode, but no subtitles. Something fails in the pipeline, and it isn't the client devices ability to handle the file.

Warning: Hardware-accelerated subtitle-overlay is disabled
Happy2Play replied to frankmb's topic in Roku
Not sure as disabling the diagnostic option should not disable hardware also. But yes 4.8 has introduced a lot of subtitle related issues compared to previous version. And per other topics yes devs are looking into it. -
Yes, if i enable subtitle extraction, the video playback works, but the subtitles won't. Which is a whole other layer of odd. The video, and the subtitles embedded, directly play on the TV when plugged in on a USB drive, but when Emby tries to directly play them, it won't?

DTS-HD and TrueHD on New Firestick 4k and Cube
signde replied to blehhh's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
It has been almost 8 weeks and I still cannot play DTS audio in the official Emby for Android TV app on the 4K fire stick. I am guessing the ATV app is abandonware are this point as the latest release is 2.1.10 yet the fireOS store still has 2.0.98a as latest. I also recently picked up a 3rd gen Cube. I was surprised to see it actually does play DTS-HD MA as DTS Core however there are some funny differences between playback of the two devices depending on the fireOS audio options. Here are my findings across both Plex and Emby: From what I can see, the latest stick in these apps will passthrough all these formats no matter which of these two audio settings you use. The cube however, there is no magic setting that will passthrough all of these formats in either app. If you choose DD+, TrueHD will get converted to DD+. If you choose Best Available, non Atmos DD+ gets converted to PCM. You can also see that I tried the latest non ATV, regular Android Emby app with the stick and yet still, no DTS audio. I'm unable to test any other versions of Emby for ATV because while I have unlocked the ATV app through the Amazon store, you can't install a beta over it. Side loading the app gives me a version of the app that isn't unlocked, and won't let me play anything. -
Warning: Hardware-accelerated subtitle-overlay is disabled
frankmb replied to frankmb's topic in Roku
And it works if I play the exact same anime episode as my original post but I select no subtitles, then hardware transcoding works. See logs embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-5af831c6-d899-41e8-a330-b35748982f6f_1.txt -
Warning: Hardware-accelerated subtitle-overlay is disabled
frankmb replied to frankmb's topic in Roku
No, under normal circumstances my hardware transcoding is active and normally works. See logs attached where I set Roku app to a lower playback quality of 480p to force transcoding. embyserver (1).txt ffmpeg-transcode-ab264107-612b-4ace-86ef-67181b15d5df_1 (1).txt -
How do you know? I'm already using Infuse but don't really see eye to eye with their developer. I am not interested in any Nvidia shield.

And the issue was with Dune correct? 2024-05-11 17:31:56.605 Info App: ProcessRun 'StreamTranscode fdaf1a' Process exited with code 137 - Failed And can only guess subtitle related as that is the reason for transcode.

Back in front of the computer...sorry for the late response. @hackthis02Everything you (and @crossfire13148) have said pertaining to how collected episodes are displayed makes sense. How watched episodes are displayed is weird to me though. I have to look at the code and the math a bit more. But let me offer some thoughts I have based on what I'm seeing in the plugin prior to me digging in to the math: For the series Dollhouse, I have collected all 26 episodes of the series, plus one special (the unaired pilot). After watching all 26 episodes and the pilot, what I expected to see in the watched column was "26 /26 (100%) +1 sp". But what is displayed seems to double count the special that was watched (i.e. 27 total episodes watched plus the watch of one special). Plus "27 /26 (100%)" makes no sense as "27 / 26" is 104%. The play results for Doctor Who (2005) are even stranger. I have collected four specials, and two episodes out of the 151 total episodes in the series. I watched all four specials. But I have not watched the most recent aired episodes. What would make sense to me to see in the watched column would be "0 / 2 (0%) + 4 sp". "4 /2" being equal to 67% makes no sense. Once I've watched the two episodes, what I would expect to see in the watched column is "2 /2 (100%) +4 sp". I'll post back with some additional thoughts once I've dug in to the math from your posts.

Hi I just tested the last APP release for samsung 1-7-9 nothing change
-
Client version number? And will assume devs will need to see server/ffmpeg logs.

jiggity started following 4K HEVC Files not playing since upgrade to 4.8
-
Hi, I have files that played fine prior to the upgrade, now they do not play on the LGTV app, but when directly connected to the TV on a USB drive they play no issues. So it is not an issue of the client device no being compatible. I tried the same file on 4 different clients, only the LGTV app will not play it, the client is capable of direct play. The fire-stick still exhibits the same old black screen DV bugs The theater app on windows, plays with no issue, the android client on my phone plays with no issue, the web client plays with no issue. This is a problem with this file type and the LGTV client app
-
The browser does not support hevc and require full conversion, but your hardware just cannot handle the task fast enough. As there is a difference between first post of failing do to settings and last of processing media slowly. Does media that is not HEVC plays correctly? Or you need a different client as Firefox will require transcoding. Did you test its capabilities per the link I provided? Everything looks normal to me.

Didn't know I needed this and now think this should be the default way. Thx.

Need fewer steps to edit images, some metadata
Happy2Play replied to brimack's topic in Feature Requests
So you went into item details, no need to click three dot menu as there are quick links to Edit metadata and/or Edit images Little confused as going to folder of your images has nothing to do with Emby Edit Images. And jumping to ie folder content just can't happen in all platform or across the internet and never should. -
Warning: Hardware-accelerated subtitle-overlay is disabled
frankmb replied to frankmb's topic in Roku
Thanks. Even after unchecking the disable hardware subtitle overlay, it still does not use hardware transcoding. With my hardware, I cannot watch anime that need subtitle burn-in using the Roku app for playback anymore. So a pretty serious loss of functionality in my opinion! New logs attached with the diagnostic option disabled. ffmpeg-transcode-95566278-909d-4623-a1bf-7a774d208dc0_1.txt embyserver.txt -
