Go to admin Library Click on 3 dots of a library Choose Folders Add add in a subfolder Result will show the new subfolder in with the other folders. It will not be nested inside a folder. OldFilms/1940s/filmnoir Folder view can show all three folders. Main menu Library OldFilms shows all films including subfolders Folder 1940's show all films in 1940s except filmnoir Folder filmnoir shows only films inside that folder Does that get you back to the way you organized before? It seems like the update did not recognize your subfolder groupings.

Did you check the reason for why it indicated the need to transcode? This is not shown in your screenshots and you did not provide any of the ffmpeg logs which would indicate the reason for the transcode.

Subfolders have been showing for years since I started using Emby server. It's one of the main reasons I've loved Emby so much vs Plex because of the subfolder organization I am (was) able to do with it. Same thing with my animation movies, I have an anime folder and inside have 15 subfolders of anime collections + single movies and now all those are just 1 line of movies instead of showing all the subfolders + single movies.

Right, sounds like subfolders no longer appear. I don't recall ever seeing subfolders as a feature. Was your custom folder approach listed somewhere in the guide as an optional way to sort your media?

No, that is not what I'm talking about. I created my own collection (blu-ray sets) folder, inside my blu-ray set folder are additional folders that have folders inside of them for each superhero movie, (antman, Avengers, Deadpool etc.) That is now gone, there is no more organization in the folder structure in the folders, it's just 1 line of movies across the screen. The above "collections" add to home page shows you ALL your collections you've created, that's not what I use, I create my own collection folders for organization.

Are any information about timeline available or a roadmap for this feature?

Collections should still be available as an optional addition to the home menu and accessable from the left pull out menu. (My current version is a beta.)

Correction: Remuxing without encoding, takes about 1 minute per 2 hour media.

Bingo! My household has 6 people with multiple TV's, xboxes, windows PC's, tablets, phones, etc. It's the reason why I hate that they removed the option to upgrade to 45 device lifetime. I only share with 2 family members outside of my household and their usage is very light. For me it has nothing to do with selling access or sharing with a huge number of people. It's about being able to share with a handful of people and letting them watch on whatever device they want without worrying about hitting the device limit. Resellers do exist, but I don't think they're all that common. We can't have nice things because of the very small minority that might take advantage or abuse it.

Just to update on this. Something seems to have resolved it. I assume server side updates wouldn't have any impact on this an I'm no aware of the LG Emby app having any updates. But I did get a firmware update for the LG TV which took it up to WebOS 23. I have gone from being able to consistently recreate this problem to now not being able to create it at all. so I have no idea what fixed it or what the cause was. But it seems to be okay for now.

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the latest Emby Server upgrade changed my entire collection layout in my folders. I have my superhero moves in individual folders inside the superhero folder. Everything was very organized and looked amazing until the last update. Now it's 1 line across the screen of all the movies! Nothing is in collections, nothing is organized, it looks like crap. Is this going to be fixed or changed back to how it was, basically showing collections in a 2-folder tier structure?

I gave up yesterday afternoon/evening. I removed all reference to Emby on the Synolgoy after removing it via the Package Center. I did a "fresh" install of the latest version and re-added my libraries and configuration manually. So far the latest version seems to be working ok. The only bad thing is we lost all our favorite marks etc.

Starting to look into this thanks for the work... Do you integrate with say JellySeer / Sonarr / Radarr by any chance to remove the feed?

I haven't got around to trying Audiobookshelf yet but it look's really cool. At some point I'll spin it up in docker and have a go. I know it has a standard Android app but does it have a Android TV app? If not, could I sideload the standard app on Andriod TV?

Have a issue where playback history is not being recorded. It is very specific, while using a browser it records as normal. position in a file and what you have played and what you have not. However on the Emby apps it does not. If i mark something as played it will indicated it has been played with the green tick, but when i go back into the episode it shows as unplayed. if i do it again it gets a error about cant file the a file. I am busy with a library scan at the moment as soon as that has completed i will upload log files.

Thanks, remember I am viewing on LG on horizontal view mode. Just a pain the way it resets to top of library list when navigating back from an artist (or when music vide has played and you press back). Great if you could fix and make usability much better as a result.

That look would not work for me on TV. Its more like a computer UI app on a computer not "ten foot interface". I also don't like all those rails of "Recent Series", "Recently Added", "Discover", "Listen Again" BUT don't mind in the least if THOSE rails appeared under "Suggestions" menu item (like some of the other libraries). But not on main screen for a library. Just too cluttered.

I'm happy with the current FOLDERS view when in Horizontal view, but just missing the A-Z picker. In my FOLDERS view, my folders are named as GENRES (Pop, Dance, R&B) with Artists (For Music, Music Videos and Audiobooks) and for TV library, its GENRES again for folder name then the TV Show name for TV library (e.g Band Of Brothers).

AI at it's best - All that does is flush the DNS cache - you are not even using DNS for an IP address based connection.... I suspect it will break again as you have an unstable connection - I suspect it's likely the wifi connection.

There's no Law & Order from 1999, there's either: Law & Order (1990) or Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) Considering you already have Law & Order: SVU, I'd assume that 1999 should be original series from 1990, hence you should rename that folder to: Law & Order (1990) [tvdbid=72368] (Before Re-scanning, delete any existing NFOs if saved with media).
