EDCM - Emby Dynamic Collections Manager 0.0.1-Alpha

Interesting idea to use existing filtering to create collections. I like how you didn't bake a paywall into it. Have you noticed if you've hit a limit yet in the number of items that you can pass using ? # Add to collection here: results_id_string = ",".join([result["Id"] for result in results]) response = emby_api.Collections( params={"Name": section, "Ids": results_id_string} )

    Is there a safe mode?

Sorry, I called it the left panel but it's most likely not called that. In the pictures below, you can see what it looks like now vs what it looks like before the upgrade. On the current version, the Admin functions don't show. If I am understanding your question correctly, I hid everything on the top of the page. Using http://localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/dashboard doesn't help, it just brings me to the log in page. I'm guessing that I will need to reinstall from scratch then?

Movie extras for one movie are not being found

All comes back to context Emby understand as the variable are endless of how users organize things so rules have to be established for everything to work correctly. Multi-versioning will have to follow specific variables. As I don't believe the plug will work with original structure/naming. But in the end only the Devs can give a technical answer as it will come back to what is already documented.

    Combine albums in music collection

I am also a former Plex user (I have lifetime memberships for both Plex and Emby). The main feature that @tfarrellis asking for is what Plex calls "Merge." You can select the various albums that should be a single album and merge them. I have, at times, wished that Emby had this. But it's important to note that Plex would not write anything back to the embedded tags in the media files either, so if a library had to be rebuilt for any reason, you would end up having to do the merge work again. Even though it would prevent that re-work, I strongly opposed Plex writing back to my embedded tags, and I also hope that Emby doesn't do it. The editors that are out there are more than adequate for the job. Embedded tags are the more "bulletproof" and permanent solution, but it can be a lot of work, if they aren't complete and accurate. Plex caused me endless headaches until I got my embedded tags in order, including, as has been mentioned here, making sure that "Album Artist" tags are always populated. Once I did, Plex was nearly bulletproof. Emby has come a long way and is, in my recent experience (it wasn't always so), comparably reliable to Plex, with the same embedded tags. Since implementing support for the Composer tag, as well as support for multiple artists per track or album, Emby has surpassed Plex where classical music is concerned.
  6. NVEncC encoder needs something like this added to the command to adjust... "--vpp-subburn track=1,scale=2.0", must be something similar with FFMpeg?

Movie extras for one movie are not being found

I think I understand the mechanics as to what is going on. What I'm saying is I don't understand 'why' the behavior was programmed that way. If Emby is confused about where to put the extras, in what context would the user actively want the extras to just never show up? I'd rather it guess and pick one and be wrong, or just assume that it is attached to both. But again, if the two versions are grouped together, when would you actively want Emby to just not show the Extras at all?

PGS Subtitles scaled incorrectly on 4K video

Yes a known issue that is being looked into. As it is a HWA scaling issue. @Wynter
  9. 4K video usually PGS subtitles stored at 1080p resolution and are displayed/overlayed just above center mark top to bottom and at the left half of the screen. These should be scaled up? has
  10. I would have to look but don't believe there is a one and done here. Have you actually looked at releaseid info as it will not return all Artist info as it is about the release not the individual same with every provider there is. It will provide api links requiring additional requests with provided known ids. So there is no one payload with all info. api.discogs.com/releases/788491 So at least 2 request Artist and Album (from a known info standpoint) in addition to all image request.

Yes, just checked. I used the backup/restore plugin to setup the new server and it copied over users and settings. I logged out of the otehr instance on my browser as well.
  12. Today
  13. Yes the logs in that folder are what is needed. The embyserver.txt is the active running server log and the numbered one are previous day as logs rollover at midnight or from a previous server restart. Logs are maintained for 3 days. If you do not have a embyserver.txt that would suggest Emby is not running,
  14. Part of the problem is the way look ups are performed, imo. If the DISCOGS_RELEASE_ID was read from the embedded tag to the metadata manager, then that was used for the lookup, you would save on the redundancies. Currently the plugin queries to discogs up to 5 times for the same file, for Artist, for Album, for Art, for Artist info, and for Album Info. Each is done as a separate request. With the Release ID all that info can be obtained in one request, as far as I understand. For any file that does not have any discogs embedded tags do not query them against discogs unless a metadata fill in missing info request is made by the user. Similar goes for MBZ, with the caveat that MBZ should not write discogs info.

    embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support

Hello, i have tried both 9.4.21 and 10.0.20, with both version sync is very fast for Person then Movies then TV Shows then Seasons but then for Episodes it is so slow ! Did anyone faced this issue ? Or maybe is it normal i don't know ? With old versions like 2 years ago, i remember all items were syncing at same speed so that is why i am surprised here.

Why is Emby transcoding, no transcoding plays fine

The server and it shouldn't play normal or should say are you sure you have sound as it is not supported. &VideoCodec=h264,hevc,mpeg2video&AudioCodec=ac3,eac3,mp3,aac &TranscodeReasons=AudioCodecNotSupported If it play normal it would suggest it is capable of TrueHD but do not know all the variables of your testing.
  17. Hey @Luke, I cannot find a generic embyserver.txt in any of the locations shown within that link but I can find two "embyserver-[bunch of numbers].txt" files. I found it under /var/db/emby-server/logs in my Emby Jail. Would either of those work?

Are you user Remote Control options the same (user setup)?
  19. Pretty much what @RanmaCanada wrote. It depends on the workload and what else you might be doing on that system. For media the two are close but for other apps that might be CPU intensive you'll have to decide how much compute power you need. As an example, for a dedicated family media server an i3 can do the job for most people unless "family" means 10+ users streaming at the same time and many transcoding.
  20. There is a legacy Collapse variable at play here also but 4.7 did the same thing. As you cannot compare Videos to Folder view. Items vs Folders Changing the Collapse variable and there is a slight difference but the view itself is the limiting factor

I've waited years and now they are gone here. is there a possibility to include them? thanks!!
  22. Thanks for the update, glad you resolved it. So was this actually the difference - mp41 vs mp42? What does ffmpeg -i report now after you fixed the files?

Yet Another Skipping/rewinding movie only on Roku

I was actually reading this when my wife called me to watch TV with her - on our Roku TV. We started playing The Piano (an off-air recording), and quite early in it the picture froze briefly, followed by a number of stutters which looked like mis-ordered blocks; then it settled down, but the subs were out of sync (a skip back 10s and forward again fixed the subs timing). This has never happened before that I recall. Roku fw version 12.5.5 (updated 3 days ago?). Logs below. Paul Roku glitches .zip

While I'm still messing with that issue. I have a slightly different one but isn't super important enough to warrant a new thread. So If I have my original server web interface up I can select Play On and then have a list of home and remote things I can cast to. I use this a lot to pick what I want to watch from my desktop and have it sent to play on my TV that has emby open. However, on the second newer server I see nothing even if emby on my TV is logged into the new server. It's an androidTV if that matters. I have both server port forwarded in my router the new one using the same port but +1 ex 8096 OG server 8097 new server.

Unable to reinstall Emby on TrueNAS Scale

It now seems to be working! ip:8920 works. all that's left to setup is adding files and automating ip address updates to the dns records.

Unable to reinstall Emby on TrueNAS Scale

I installed TrueNAS Scale in a VM and admittedly I didn't go all the way to setting up SSL but I couldn't find how exactly it's mapping 9096 to 8096, there was no listening entry in a netstat output and I tried looking at iptables if there was rule but I couldn't find anything. Maybe if I kept digging around I'd have found something. But I did try setting Host Network enabled and now I can see it listening on 8096 so if you don't have anything else listening on those port it may be worth enabling that and you can just use the host IP:8096 or host IP:8920 and you should be good to go.
