I do not like the fact that, without genre changer, we have so many genre. We even have different names for the same genre like "Science Fiction" and "Sci-fy" and a few others. I use genre cleaner and map every possible genre to one of four. "Drama," "Science Fiction and Fantasy," "Thriller action and adventure" and "Mystery Crime and suspense." To be honest I almost never even look and what genre a movie or TV show is in as it does not matter much to me. There really is only two meaningful "genre" and those are "good" and "Bad" although there could also be a third "OK" where vids that are not too bad but not good enough to be considered good might go. This is one of the things i really like about Emby, you are not locked into using only the provider's opinions. You can use your own. All it takes is a little ingenuity and some time to fix things exactly as you want.

This the official TrueNAS SCALE application, running on Dragonfish. The system has a Xeon E-2124G and 96GB ECC RAM. During the image extraction, free RAM went from 6.6GB to 5.1GB while the ZFS cache increased accordingly. One thread was at close to 100%, the rest of the CPU idle. That's not true, you did NOT use direct play in web playback. With the latest Emby iOS update (2.2.19) I am experiencing issues with music playback over AirPlay, After some time (around 1 min) the client suddenly goes to the next song. Which again, after some time, suddenly goes to the next, etc. In the past (last few years) this always worked fine for me. I have tried multiple scenarios, playback on the phone, playback using 2 different AirPlay devices, playback over Chromecast and playback over Bluetooth. So far I've only been able to reproduce the issue with AirPlay, it doesn't matter whether the media is streamed from my server or from offline (downloaded) media. The crux of the matter is the need for customization in determining which MusicBrainz tags equate to EMBYARTISTS. At present, Emby maps the following MusicBrainz tags: MB Artist MB AlbumArtist MB Composer These are collectively used to define EMBYARTISTS. This grouping, however, should be configurable to cater to individual preferences. @Luke, @ebr and the rest of the Emby Team, this issue has been ongoing for years. Is it possible for the team to prioritize and address this matter now? Or will it be relegated to the backlog with a note to consider for a future release? The ability to configure these settings would greatly enhance user experience and provide much-needed flexibility in managing music libraries.

mine keep re-recording eps of shows that have already been watched and deleted due to [[ Keep up to "30" limit ]] <<example>> that is set. when i look at the future schedule it does not show on the list, if i have watched the ep or not.. until it is already recording the show, then I see the green check mark on the Dashboard screen... This is a waste of resource and space. Is there a plugin or a feature that I am missing? Edit, maybe there is a way to only record EPS of a show 1 time, or a selection to allow it to record X many times before it stops recording EPS of a show?

Over several years, I now have so many Conversions from each show that I now want to delete all and do it by group. How do I safely remove or delete all of my Conversions so I can start over fresh on Conversions.

i tested with 4.8.7.0 and it looks like if i do a refresh of the metadata and choose replace existing images it uses the 3840x2160 resolution. i tested it with only one video since the other files are ok and i do not want to risk loosing good thumbnail images

@Q-DroidI believe after turning off/on Nord app I was also restarting the Emby server, yes (or maybe just rotating the log files sometimes). So, with NordVPN app disabled completely in Windows and NordVPN enabled only as chrome extension all is good, no errors in the logs as expected. Not sure why Nord's app is ignoring split tunneling settings (I'd rather us the app and not extension as I could control the traffic from other apps as well). As for the other things, it still concerns me that after enabling Skip Intro and Thumbnail extraction now the simple library scan (without adding any new media) takes around 40 min compared to 30 seconds prior to that. I already did a full scan at the beginning so I'd figure all bif files should already beembyserver.txt downloaded. Now library is set to only check for these as a scheduled task but it still makes tones of connections to tvdb and tmdb with every scan. Is it normal? Should it 'calm' abd fasten the process after some time when Emby will think all the files are in place? Is there anything standing out in the logs (maybe debugging would show something more)?

@quickmicTranscoding solely video allows Kodi to playback. Is there any idea why the stream needs to be transcoded in the first place? New backend direct to kodi plays without issue, so same initial stream that Emby would request. Only when going through Emby does it immediately crash unless the plug-in enables transcoding so seems a bit off.

Paul, Those are excellent points. The extra time I spend is often correcting the translations. I speak German, Italian and French and conversational slightly in a few more. I also will adjust timings to hang on past the audio cut off, to help the read time. You can slide the start of a subtitle right up to the start of the visible audio waveform, which really makes the subtitles sync up perfectly.

Looks like you have extra plugins, that might take up space. Can you try zooming out.

@CBersthats odd. I think my plugins are almost standard, but with none I would suspect to add people to search. Running Server V.4.8.7.0 searching via WebUI.

Same here. Scheduled recording starts and then stops within a minute. Using Emby with NextPVR.

Also interested in this enhancement.

@TolkienBardI am familiar with that list lol. I’m about 1/3rd of the way done building all the pieces of the script. The big lift is getting the prompts all put together to allow for customization of how it assembles everything. The idea is run the script, it will give you a menu to chose from and let you do the entire setup as a one stop shop.
