Greetings, I have the following problem, I have 2 computers with linux mint and there I installed the flatpack version of Emby Theater. No matter what I try to play (music, movies, TV) only the loading circle appears and nothing happens. Via the browser it works as usual and with the windows version of Emby Theater it also works without problems. I think it has to do with the update to the latest server version 4.8.7.0. I have also tried to delete Emby Theater and reinstall it, but that didn't help either.

It doesn't behave the same. With animations enabled, you will see a "smooth scrolling" effect as the posters animate from one position to the next. With them disabled, the posters simply snap into the next position. Perhaps "Enable Smooth Scrolling" would be a better term to use...

Are you saying yes i can set up folders on another pc , so 2 pc's with say movies on one and tv shows on the other pc and they will connect together on emby server and i will be able to acesss the whole lot say through a tv on another network.

Not really as I don't understand the "word" "animation" in this context. With "animations" disabled the scrolling looks exactly the same as it did before except the display does not screw up on return from a movie. Of course my old eyes might not be noticing the difference or I may prefer it so much that my old brain dismisses the differences as just proper operation. I can confirm that this really does fix my problems because there have been several times over the last day or so that I preformed actions that would before screw up my display and the display was always fine. Can you elaborate as every client will likely do something different. Probably need the media info for the file also.

My Dolby Vision movies are tinted extremely green when direct played, but are properly colored when transcoded to a different resolution/bitrate. What’s going on here?

No, you can run the script all by itself without restarting if you're logged on with admin rights. That's the only thing I can think of why it didn't work until the restart for waqar123. Of course, when you restart the system is running the script which is why it works then. Just looking at the guide really quick I don't see where I specified which privileges you needed though.

Hi. The Roku does not support theme videos at this time. Perhaps in the future but, with the Roku platform this would not be simple and this is a very little-used feature due to the fact that there is no free, legal source for these items to automate.

Just share and map the desired drive/folder to your network and the, on your server map the share to a new drive letter and then use that drive just exactly as you would an other drive. It is easy (The internet is a great source for Windows functioning info.) I us mapped drives vey often.

Hey roaku, this rule always worked fine - on Emby 4.8.7.0 it doesn't. Could you please make this filename rule work again? I really need it to mark non german episodes here ![DE|!DE] So if file name does not contain "[DE" or "DE]", use this rule. "![DE" or "!DE]" works, but the combination doesn't fyi Best regards

Just dropping the idea here, not a core feature request, but a plugin request. Help me with my binging problem! I'd like to set a overall preference that will not let me play two shows from the same series within...an hour...a day...a week. Just a thought. Thanks

I am using emby-kodi next gen to play my videos in kodi. I created a collection in the browser on windows called "Studio Ghibli Collection" and added 6 movies to the collection. In kodi I set the check box for setting/library/videos/show movie sets. Initially all the movies showed up in kodi but after a few days - maybe a week two of the movies were removed and these two movies showed in main movie list on both the kodi interface and in the browser. running version 4.8.6.0 In the movie library the following are checked - and others too. I have enable real time monitoring checked all the metadata downloaders checked Import collection information from metadata downloaders I am leaving the last one checked because I was also losing movies from automated collections until I left it check. Now I only lose movies from the custom ghibli collection. Periodically I restore the movies to the set and eventually some get removed - haven't really been tracking which ones each time - maybe the same ones maybe not. Any thoughts on how to chase this down?

up till last week i was able to ask siri and other devices to play music from emby, please note this does work fine when on local network, every time i get this message saying i couldn't find that in your emby library. i have noted a erroe message in log everytime the request has been made. 2024-05-26 19:06:21.057 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 204 to ::1. Hi, this isn't necessary. As long as the date timestamp of the file changes, then a normal library scan is all that's needed.

Emby can be exceptionally dumb when you make file changes. You need to remove the file from the library (physically move it to a different non emby location), delete the old NFO, scan the library minus the file, re-add the file, re-scan the library and then Emby will probably recognize any changes.

Unless a timing issue as it does take a while to update 1100+ files I have yet to reproduce an issue here. But have not tested most of the experiments above as they are incorrect as Emby must have a parent folder for every show/series. So any of these should provide broken results as this is technically three separate shows/series. Unless the parser by chance eliminates all trailing info and only uses One Piece (1999) but that is/should be hit and miss. But will require the library merge folders option. I am running emby on a windows 10 pc Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB Product ID 00331-10000-00001-AA294 System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display I have 4 sata slots , four 2.0 usb slots & three 3.0 slots & 2 different hdd double enclosures, one from Sabrient & the other from Orico. I have 3 Sonnics 4TB 3.5" INCH SATA III INTERNAL HARD DISK DRIVE 64MB 7200RPM in them, one enclosure hooked to 3.0 usb and 1 hooked to 2.0 usb 2 weeks ago the drives became hdd is not accessible THE VOLUME DOES NOT CONTAIN A RECOGNISED FILE SYSTEM .I checked disc one of the drives and it became accessible but i lost all my files. The remaining hdd i recovered the files first then disk check & then formatted drives. In trying to figure out what happened i done a malware check & some were found & i put that down as the reason the fault and so removed malware reformatted drives and put the recovered files back on drives & hooked up to pc through enclosures & everything seemed fine until 2 weeks later it happened again and it happened the day after i set up the folders in emby library . Now there is already internal hdd's attached through sata inside the pc & they are hooked up to emby library and they are perfect. Are enclosures the problem or HDD's all of which are new or some security feature with power to drive or permissions Considering hdd's on sata have no problems and i have no ports left & cant afford a nas system or a 10tb hdd could i use an old pc i have and connect hdds to it through sata and then add folders from there to my emby server on the same network . I am a bit stupid when it comes to HDD's & hope i am explaining this right ,please forgive Rich P.S I am using the usb ports at the front of my pc , one usb 2.0 & one 3.0 usb if that makes any difference
