I have not read all the posts here. Just FYI: a $20 add on Streaming device running Google TV solves this issue and works fine. I understand some people want the TV app to run perfectly. This is just the cost of a deli sandwich... https://www.walmart.com/search?q=Onn+4K

Help with library sync/refresh accuracy
jordn613 replied to jordn613's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
I did not. I'm afraid of what other setup I'd have to remember to get myself back to where I am now - which is that at least I can play the files that are in my library. I took some photos to try and illustrate what is going on. https://postimg.cc/gallery/T6TXtKN "Plex on C" is currently the only folder I have as a library in Emby. It consist of the movies in image 4273 - these are the "source of truth" as in, they are the only actual movies/files that still exist and are in my "Plex on C" folder/library. In image 4277, you can see a couple other movies visible - these are still showing up (but are of course unplayable) even though this folder and those files no longer even exist on my PC and I do not have it designated as a library in Emby. In all of the settings I have found, I have repaired or refreshed the library on my Ugoos device. And yet, you can see in some of the screenshots things like "EMBY: Movies (movies)" and "EMBY Dynamic: TV shows (tvshows)" even though those folders/libraries/files no longer exist. So this seems like some sort of caching issue possibly? I just don't know where or how to flush the cache and truly "refresh" the actual files and movies that exist in the one folder/library (Plex on C) that currently exists. -

I am stuck here and can't find the information. I have my Emba server on a synology NAS and it's working fine. No I want to stream video to my Samsung TV. This was fine for some videos, but for those with DTS audio it did not work. So I figured out, how to create a custom profile and make emby to use it with my TV. Now I can play als videos with DTS audio, when I use my TV interface to start the video. (So I can go in the TV menu to dlna, choose the Emby server, and then the video.) So step 1 is done. But what I really want is, to start the playback with the emby app on my android mobile. But this doesn't work for DTS. So: playing directly with the TV, DTS ist transcoded. Playing from the Emby app to my TV seems not to trancode. My understanding was: no matter who starts the playback, emby sees the DLNA target, and uses the profile is the target is recognized. Is this wrong? Does emby see only ma android device, when streaming with it to my TV? How can I make Emby to transcode in this case?? Thank you in advance, Pete

I'll see what I can do. Thanks

Screenshots are always helpful in these cases, as a picture is worth a thousand words and it typically helps avoiding misunderstandings, as it often happens that what one says is not what another hears. So if you could post a screenshot of your TV show root folder would be awesome. In certain scenarios, number-titled shows can confuse parser, hence the baseline/initial condition needs to be established and correct filefolder structure/naming to be clear to offer some insight/troubleshoot, else its all guesswork only.

I have them under the tv shows option. The shows are located on a portable hard drive. The shows are located in individual folders with the season number then episode number then name of show in each individual folder. Example: folder for show 1883. Then in that folder will be S01E01 then name of the episode following

Mmm, this still didn't seem too happy. I have now changed permission so these toplevel folders to allow emby to read, but their contents are set to still not be readable by emby. I have for good measure put a .embyignore with "*" in them to each of these top levels. As I said would be interested to see what emby have to say about this, certainly a change of behaviour and you'd think a bug as the whole library shouldn't break with with a top level directory that has perms that aren't readable by embyserver.

I'm using Emby for some transcoded streaming. Client is a FireTV Stick. I configured 3MBps max bitrate which seems activating the transcoding but it seems not happening in reality. I can check "nvidia-smi", which does not show any ongoing process. Also in my router I can clearly see there is much more bandwidth (~10MBps) used than I requested. Stats for nerds also confirms this (direct play), emby server admin also shows direct play. But transcoding log doesnt really show any errors at least I couldn't find any on my phone. Can you please take a look at it? ffmpeg-transcode-6a8c6abe-3545-4b24-9dcd-f6bcbbb98a7d_1.txt

Hello, I'm new to Emby, and I really like it. I am having a a bit of a problem with TV shows function. I have 52 individual series with multiple episodes in each folder. When I open a particular series to start watching, all 52 series one episode one are displayed in the drop down box. Then I have to scroll down the list until I find the episode I want to watch. Is there a way to get around this and just show the episodes that pertain to the particular show I want to watch. Thank you

Thank you for the offer but what i want is just the info of what songs have been used in a movie shown along side the actors as so on. Just a little extra info about the movie.
-
I like adding theme songs to media so you get music when the media page opens. It's a lot of work to find something good. I also use youtube and search for "Media title" (year) music soundtrack. Oddly, Youtube has a lot of counterfit entries, showing songs of other artists, nothing to do with the film or TV show. Someone is grabbing views for profit. This happens all the time with new shows. You can tell by seeing the same unrelated artists and the owner is some fake name. Ha! Also check ou: https://what-song.com/ I could make a alphabetic media list of music I use. I think a rule for the forum, would be to NOT post actual mp3 files. That would be inappropriate and cause problems. Would anyone be interested in this?

TheAudioDB is a free community API that i think supplies the info. I believe IMDb supplies the data if you can get access to the API. I think it's free for individual users so maybe an option for users to enter their own API key? Havn't checked but TMDB might also provide some info.

Someone might ask where would you find this information? This website appears to allow commercial use for free. Has an asterisk after free which means there are strings attached. There might be some kind of shared agreement whether it is financial or advertising related. https://www.tunefind.com/api

We need to know what happened, right now we are all guessing! We need more info about your setup and how you have configured Emby. There are so many ways this can happen and so many option admin can forget or not know about what it does, that can lead to this. -

Have you ever posted "Emby server logs" on this forum and those disclosed your private API key? If they happen across your API key in any of those server logs those could be used to allow unscrupulus people to try to gain access to your server and start messing with things.. Always make sure to submit logs that you download through the server admin interface so they will get information removed, such as API keys, IP addresses, etc.. I am suspect you may have needed help very early on and some a$$hole found your logs with the api key in it and decided he wanted to be a d!ck. Apologies. You need to read the post that I have linked above. It will explain how this happens and how to prevent it.
