BrentTheZebra 1 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 I've provided pictures below, it's very annoying. Thanks
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Sorry I don't quite follow as the subtitles are appearing in the letterbox border of the actual media so there is no black background. You have that same border without subtitles correct?
seanbuff 1315 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Maybe they are referring to this "background" which is separate to the standard letterbox It kinda seems a bit related to this topic, but not quite the same 1
BrentTheZebra 1 Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 When I turn off the subtitles the border goes away. I shouldn't have said black background sorry.
seanbuff 1315 Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 Which Emby client are you using for playback where you see this?
xservers 1 Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Hello, I have this exact same issue and can't find a way to get rid of it (Emby native web video client).

sundevil67 28 Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 I would love to be able to add a black background behind my subtitles...so much of the time the white text gets lost when the content is too busy or bright, making them illegible. These days with so many mumbly actors, poorly mic'ed recordings, and terrible TV speakers, despite having perfectly find hearing, I can't even watch TV without subtitles on everything.

This will be available in the next server version 4.7 for Subtitles options. Devs are hoping to release any day now. 1
