jptestung 1 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 (edited) Hello all, I've just intalled for the first time emby to try it out, on a debian 9 linux server. Followed this instructions ( https://emby.media/linux-server.html ) and it went very well, server up and running after a few minutes. Then I added a video on my library but the server still displays "no items found". My video is named "VID_20190630_191736.mp4" (it's a personal video for tests). I tried the "Scan library files" in the admin pages. I've looked into the logs but I can't see any errors except in the hardward_detection log file (attached). What could be wrong here ? Thank you. Q-Droid 989 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 The embyserver log would have more info. The HW detection log is just that, the results from HW detection at startup but doesn't log server activity.
jptestung 1 Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 (edited) Here is the embyserver log attached. Edited December 24, 2020 by jptestung
jptestung 1 Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 Note that I've created another Library of type "Home videos and photos", and it can see my test video. The library that couldn't see my test video is of type "Movies".
Luke 42079 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 @jptestung are you still running into this? Is this the only library you've added in Emby library setup?
jptestung 1 Posted December 29, 2020 Author Posted December 29, 2020 Thx, it's ok now. I still don't understand why this video was not recognized by a "Movie" type library. It was a personal video recorded on my device, uploaded to google photos, and then downloaded/uploaed to my "Movie" type library. Since then I've been using plenty of other videos in my "Movie" library, and it's working perfectly fine. My best guess, is that the encoding of this personal video for whatever reason was not accepted in "Movie" type library, but was ok in "Home videos and photos". Or maybe it's based on the title of the video.
jptestung 1 Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 The file that was not show in Movie type library was named "VID_20190630_191736.mp4" and it was at the root of the library folder.
Luke 42079 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Ok we'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.
