qux 10 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Hi, I want to add collections to collection for create sub-collections, in other topic I think understand that's possible but I don't understand how can I do that, because if I click on the collection menu, I just have the possibility to add to a playlist, but the button add to collection doesn't appear.
negativzeroe 80 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 You just multi select the movies and add them. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
qux 10 Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 I know 1 movie can add to multiple collections, but that's not I want to do, I want to create sub-collections, example when you click on the ''Pixar collection'', you see others folders with ''Toy Story collection, Indredibles collection'' etc. 1
Luke 42077 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Hi, it's currently not supported, but it's possible for the future. thanks. 1

Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Currently you have to use the API or manually update the collection.xml. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/86286-not-grouping-movies-correctly/?p=883248
qux 10 Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 thank you very much, how can I download and install the API collectionservice ?
qux 10 Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 do you know if it's possible to show just the principal collection and not the sub-collections in the collections menu ? becaus if I change the xml files the sub-collections appears 2 times, one in the principal collection that I create and 1 in the collection menu..

There currently is no way to collapse a Collection within a collection as they are two separate virtual items. You would have to eliminate the original collection and remove the collectionid from each item and add each item to said new custom collection. As for the API there is a link on the bottom of your server dashdboard.
qux 10 Posted May 30, 2020 Author Posted May 30, 2020 Hi, I don't understand very well what ''You would have to eliminate the original collection and remove the collectionid from each item and add each item to said new custom collection." mean, sorry for my english. I delete the autoboxset plugin. If I understand, I delete the original collection from C:\Users\XX\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\collections After, I delete the number write in 'ID ThemovieDB collection'' of all movies what I want in my nested collection. But, after that, how can I create a new sub-collection will appear just in the parent collection and not in the collection menu ?
guardianali 12 Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Any progress on this feature? Is it on the 'to do' list for future updates?

alesk76 5 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 (edited) hi Luke, thx for your replay ... when I go to My MEDIA there is also collections and whe I press with right mouse button to open options there is no more ¨Add to Collection¨¨ I think that before it was... my opinion is when you go to your Collection tab and you see all what you have inside at the top of all it should be button ¨Add to Collection¨ and if you want you can add new one .... Luke 42077 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Hi, well what are you trying to add to a collection?

From a library standpoint no you can't add a library to a Collection. You can only add individual/multi-select items to a collection. Currently there is no way to add a Collection to another Collection. 1
