MBSki 1114 Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 I noticed the Xbox One app updated last night. I think it's version 1.1.28 now. I can't find any release notes anywhere though. Anyone know what was changed?
Solution Luke 42077 Posted January 16, 2020 Solution Posted January 16, 2020 Hi, mostly layout fixes on the video detail screen. 1
MBSki 1114 Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Hi, mostly layout fixes on the video detail screen. Thanks Luke. Are there any other in progress items for the Xbox One like the transcoding fix mentioned in other threads? Understand if focus is on converting other platforms to the new app design, but wondering if Xbox one is actively getting any other fixes now.
MBSki 1114 Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Great, thanks Luke. Not sure if beta releases are possible on Xbox One, but I'd gladly test if a beta was available.
MBSki 1114 Posted January 29, 2020 Author Posted January 29, 2020 Luke, I've seen a few more updates recently, but can't tell what's different. Are there release notes somewhere? Sadly MS doesn't post any info on Xbox One to see what actually changed. I'm interested to hear what improvements have been made and curious about what changes are being worked.
Luke 42077 Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 There is the new design for adding to collections and playlists. 1
MBSki 1114 Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) Another update, 1.1.285, what changed in this one? Is there any way that you could pin release notes to the top of the Emby Theater thread so we know what was updated for both the Windows store and Xbox One apps? Or just update the currently pinned thread? Edited February 13, 2020 by mbarylski
Luke 42077 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Yes this is the virtual scrolling update.
MBSki 1114 Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 Looks like there were a few more updates. I believe it was at 1.1.289 when I checked yesterday. What was added to the versions since .285?
Luke 42077 Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 It resolves this https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/82572-et-posters-now-stretched-since-recent-virtual-scrolling-update/
MBSki 1114 Posted February 22, 2020 Author Posted February 22, 2020 Thanks Luke. I see another update to .90. what's been added? Can you provide an ETA on the next major version to match the Android TV features and get 4k videos working without transcoding?
Luke 42077 Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 The latest update resolved this: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/82449-unable-to-slide-screen-up-or-down-in-tv-show-page/?view=getnewpost
MBSki 1114 Posted February 22, 2020 Author Posted February 22, 2020 Ah, ok, thanks Luke. Can you provide an ETA on the next major version to match the Android TV features and get 4k videos working without transcoding?
MBSki 1114 Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 Hey Luke. Another update to 1.1.291. What's been added? Following up on another post...any chance you can provide an ETA on the next major version to match the Android TV features and get 4k videos working without transcoding?
Luke 42077 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Just some continued minor fixes related to the new scrolling.
MBSki 1114 Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 Ok, thanks. Can you give any ETA on update to new design and getting 4k working?
Luke 42077 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 There is no new design. The apps have almost exactly the same design at this point. There are of course still some small differences that we are gradually reconciling over time.
FrostByte 5392 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Since we're sort of on the topic, will you still be changing the internal player to something else at some point?
Luke 42077 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Since we're sort of on the topic, will you still be changing the internal player to something else at some point? Yes we're going to do mpv like android and iOS have. 1
FrostByte 5392 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Yes we're going to do mpv like android and iOS have. Fantastic, thanks
MBSki 1114 Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 That's good because that will theoretically fix 4k playback. There's a lot of other functionality missing other than that. Off the top of my head things missing in Xbox one app compared to Android are: 4k playback (fixed with mpv), playing videos in slide show, live TV seeking, showing all media types in Favorites, one click filters in libraries for favorites and unwatched, enhanced home page, display preferences in libraries (image size/type), resume rewind, and start playback by pressing play on remote control. Of all of these, 4k playback is the most critical. Can we at least get that one implemented? Personally I'd like to see the same exact design. IMHO there isn't any benefit trying to match the platform design since platforms are very similar these days. Much easier when the app on all platforms is identical like Netflix does.
MBSki 1114 Posted March 23, 2020 Author Posted March 23, 2020 @@Luke We're up to .294 on Xbox One app. What are the updates since .90? And, can you please post release notes here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42270-emby-for-windows-store-release-notes/? It's the perfect place to keep everyone informed rather than reaching out every time there's an update. Plus, we can get it added to the consolidated Emby Latest Versions post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/21348-emby-latest-versions/) so everyone knows all the updates for every app that have been released.
Luke 42077 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Some small inconsistencies across different list screens were reconciled.
