I use a Dreambox with enigma2 as player for the Streams. With the VLC player on Windows 11, is the same problem. I also tryed to ad the Streams to my TvHeadend IPTV server. When TvHeadend test the Streams, the Emby LiveTv crash.  When you fast change 6 or 8 channels it happens.

@hdsuisseThere's a new Dev version 2.1.8.0 in the plugin catalogue. Although it hopefully fixes your problem also with the Export Stream Type "Universal", i suggest you to switch to the new Stream Type "Direct". That one has less overhead. However, read the description of that setting carefully to understand the consequences!

I’m having trouble with the filtering for genre Director and studio. Any help for that would be greatly appreciated. The only way I can get my channels to show up is to do playlist and collections. If possible I would like to be able to do that encompasses all of my stuff but filters out for what I want to be in my channel versus having to create a another playlist or another collection just to create the channel. Can you go over those type of filters for me? So far, I really love the option for the channel.

Give me a concrete example of what you are trying to achieve. Apart from that, i think you've mixed up both release date fields. And you should only fill out fields that are really necessary to achieve your goal, there's no need to insert an asterisk everywhere.

I’m having trouble getting Playlist Playback (live) working on my AppleTV 4K.  It works fine on my AndroidTV box - I’ve tried both the latest stable and dev releases and I’ve tried changing the Delay Playlist Remote Playback to 400ms which I found mentioned somewhere, but still no luck.  It just starts playing a black screen with no audio with a 1 minute runtime.   Any ideas on how to fix this?   I tried changing to Native (Live) but it didn’t act like “live”, it just started the episode or movie from the beginning no matter what the guide said (and yes I force-updated the guide)

That sounds like remote playback commands do not work at all on your AppleTV. Try if you can use Emby's "Play On" feature (casting icon, top right on every screen) from some other Emby client to control your AppleTV.

Apologies in advance as I had to uninstall the plugin and go back to my m3u/xml setup so the family could watch TV last night. I really need to set up a test machine someday so I can help troubleshoot better.

lastest server beta on a Mac playing. On an Apple TV.

Playback via Playlist (Live) - I also tried Native (Live).

works fine as long as I don’t try to change channels. Once I do that it looks like playback starts but it actually returns me to the home screen with the program audio continues in the background. If I let the episode finish, the next episode pops up and plays normally.

@ChimaeraHere are the settings that work for me on my Apple TV 4k. I'm using Virtual TV version 2.1.7.4. I'm using Playlist (Live) for my playback method on my channels. 

You may also want to try and clear the cache for each channel by clicking the garbage can icon.

Then after that refresh the guide data.

I am trying to have it look for all the movies and tv shows on my server and put it in a channel. Example, I would like to have it look for all the movies and tv that are the Action Genre for example and put it in a channel. I somehow got Horror/Thriller to work but, I cannot get any others. I am new to this and would like to see if I can get it to work. My workaround has to been to create playlist until I can get this to work.

I removed all the other filters that I had. I cannot get it to pull up my action movies. I have over 1000 movies that are that category. I am going to narrow it down a bit more but, I am confused on how to get it to pull in the genre and to add the multiple genres. I have tried putting in just action and Action. Neither are working for me. I have tried Action || Adventure and that does not work either. I just tried Action && Adventure along with trying Action&&Adventure. I would appreciate any assistance with this. 

I just unchecked the above and I did finally get some results. Would you know why that is?

Really? What Apple TV model do you have? Also what about the two different player modes of the Emby app, MPV vs. Apple?

i havent tried switching players. Let me try that later tonight.

Note that i did try both Playlist  and Native Live.

They are all valid, it's case insensitive. The difference is "&&" means that only a movie with both genres is a match, while "||" means it can have either the one or the other.

If you get no results when the "Use an AND query between the above rules" option is enabled, this usually means that none of your movies meet all of your conditions. But with 1000 movies and Action as genre it's very unlikely. So you probably hit a bug, maybe with the Parental Rating condition.

Please lookup Emby's Program Data folder by viewing your Server Info in Emby's Dashboard. Then open the VirtualTV.xml config file that you will find under "{Program Data}\plugins\configurations". Find your Action channel and copy paste here all things between <VirtualChannel> and </VirtualChannel>, except "UsersEnabled" and "ContentUserName".

Okay I figured out how to get the content to show up in the guide. Yeaa a victory, but only for it to face me with the next hump! LOL.. No I get the error message "Can't Tune Channel At This Time". Suggestions please... Again I am sure it is something simple I am not doing.

Hello I have been up and down the web and even the section about the virual TV player. I really need anyones help or answer and how to get the created channels to play! They get loaded, they show up in the guide but will not play. Instead i get this constant error message "Cannot tune to channel at this time"  what am i doing wrong here? Can anyone help with this, because I had it actually running once upon a time last year, but I knowit must be something simple that I am noyt seeing.
