Play back issue bad stuttering

Hi

 

Not sure why this has started happening but play back is now stuttering badly to the point that viewing experience is really poor.

 

To help resolve this I have tried:

 

1) updated Emby server to latest version

2) updating graphics driver

3) turned off hardware acceleration

4) turned off enable throttling

5) updated to latest Windows updates

 

none of which has helped.

 

Copy of debug server log attached, this is from boot to play back within a few minutes, initial play back was particualrly bad. I am viewing via HTPC running Emby Theater. No transcoding log found in same folder as Emby log.

 

Any help on stopping this stuttering would be appreciated. Never had this problem before so at a lose why it has started.

It is TV series, every episode has stuttered to some extent, somethings even the theme backdrop. All are MKV files, video H264, audio DTS-HD MA. Does Emby Theatre / Server combo use transcoding or is it playing direct?

In your log sample it is playing direct to the file system, which means our ability to resolve this for you might be limited.

 

Have you tried rebooting the Theater machine?

Thanks Guys, I will give my HTPC a health check tomorrow, then enable mpv logging. Getting late for me now. I am running the downloaded version of Emby Theatre, not the one from the Windows Store. @ not 100% sure of the naming is this the desktop app version? My HPTC gets rebooted a fresh each time, I don't keep it turned on it doesn't have a TV tuner card, just use it for music and Emby.

Was there a resolution for this issue?  I'm experiencing skipping, freezing during playback of recorded shows and live TV on all machines on my network (both wifi & CAT6) except when using Emby Theater from the HTPC that is running Emby Server.

Thank you for the quick reply.  I went back and removed the Windows App version and downloaded and installed Emby Theater download.  Most are working much better.  One older laptop is a little slow but it may just be its wifi.
