Any updates on the following issues?

Luke, I've made various posts about these issues over the months and commented when somebody else brought them up so I just wanted to consolidated them here rather than reviving multiple, old'ish threads.

 

Any updates on the following:

 

1) Displaying a continuous list of movies. By this I mean, if I'm scrolling through my movies on my Android box, iPad, web client... if I select the letter 'M' and jump to those and start scrolling through all of them, eventually, I'll get to a point where I have to click an arrow to load ANOTHER section of movies that start with the letter 'M'. Any plans to just let the client/server have a continuous scroll of all the 'M' movies that go right into 'N'?

2) Not letting non-admin users (or heck, ANY user) manually edit collection data:

3) Letting Emby enter into some 'fallback' mode where no internet doesn't mean no Emby access on the Apple TV when the Apple TV and Emby server are in the same house: (I wonder if this applies to Android devices as well and Roku boxes?)

4) Having an 'A-Z' jump bar on the right side of the screen on the Apple TV: (I think practically every other Emby device has this, just not the Apple TV. A dev responded and said it was being looked into but no ETA)

I'm seeing a small increase in the number of users that stream from me switch from using Plex to Emby. As a result, I'm more hesitant to start using new server betas as I would like to keep Emby stable. If one or more of these have already been addressed in the new server builds, please accept my apologizes. I try and keep up on the release notes for the betas and didn't see anything in there about any of these.

I am interested in tracking this as it is one thing that makes no sense to me. A continuous scroll (on all platforms) just makes more sense (and has the all-important higher WAF).

This is the one item I couldn't find. I'm thinking maybe I saw somebody else ask about implementing that feature and I 'liked' the post or maybe I remember seeing it and thought, "yeah, that would be a good feature". I'll keep looking when I get some time and update the original post if I can find where I saw it being asked about for.

 

Since my hatred for Plex grows by the day, I can't wait to finally ditch it! Once these 4 issues are addressed, I'll finally be able to put Plex in the rear view mirror!

Virtual Scrolling should be in the works soon, as mentioned in may topics about pagination.  So once the server/web client has it, it will make it to the rest of the client/apps.

 

Clients like the Theater already show you all your media but at a cost as it takes forever for all the item to appear.  So there may be pros and cons depending on how this is implemented as it could take awhile to load 5000+ items.

Hi, any estimation on this?
I know, infinite scrolling / virtual scrolling is on your todo-list, but right now, the worst thing for me is, that the navigation arrows are not correctly working most of the time, when I go through the library.
Not sure, if infinite scrolling should be implemented as an user / admin Setting where it can be enabled - or disabled, - or when this feature will be ready... but if it still take some time, it might be worth to check, if the pagination issue could be solved in the meantime?
