chenks 21 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 hey, i just installed the emby server beta over the top of the standard release version and was assuming/hoping that it supported the file structure for movies extras that plex uses? ie -behindthescenes, -deleted, -featurette etc etchowever i've forced re-scanned the libraries and those files are still showing up as separate items in the library and not within the movie they belong to. do i need to do anything else to make them go where they should?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I will have to do some searching as this structure has been brought up before. But currently I believe requires items in sub-folder structure. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie-naming#movie-extras Looks like the discussion started here. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/66489-plex-to-emby-how-did-it-go I will do some testing to see if this was implemented in beta. @@Luke
chenks 21 Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 i am still running plex at the same time, so i can't change my file structure. plex just requires the files to have the filename tagged and for them to be in the same folder as the movie file. post 3 in that thread suggests that it should be supported?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 What is your exact naming scheme and library content type, as mine get grouped.
chenks 21 Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) content type is "movies". this is the file structure currently used with plex. Edited January 12, 2019 by chenks
Happy2Play 9782 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Just saw that in the other topic. Emby currently treats that naming convention as separate item. They need to be named moviename-whatever "ie -behindthescenes, -deleted, -featurette etc etc".
chenks 21 Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 ok so emby can't use the existing plex file structure. oh well, that's game ender for me then.
Chyron 256 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 @@chenks Emby and Plex both support the same folder structure for extras. If, instead of having files named "nameofextra-deleted.m4v", you named it "Deleted Scenes\nameofextra.m4v", both Plex and Emby support that. 1
Luke 42080 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 content type is "movies". this is the file structure currently used with plex. Yes I was wrong, sorry. This way of doing it has not yet been implemented. We can look into it though. Thanks.
chenks 21 Posted January 15, 2019 Author Posted January 15, 2019 it would be appreciated if you could, as i really don't want to have to change the structure of the existing and mature library.

If, instead of having files named "nameofextra-deleted.m4v", you named it "Deleted Scenes\nameofextra.m4v", both Plex and Emby support that. ok so i've tried this with 1 movie. created the sub-folders, moved the files to those sub-folders and renamed appropriately. the extras now show up inside the movie listing. BUT, the extras files are also showing up the main movies list

chenks 21 Posted January 15, 2019 Author Posted January 15, 2019 yes, and real-time scanning is also enabled.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 How about a screen shot of the folder structure Testing I can put anything in a extras folder and not have it show in the movie list.
Luke 42080 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Yea can we see what the folder looks like now? thanks.
