beta server - deletedscene files

Recommended Posts

Posted

hey, i just installed the emby server beta over the top of the standard release version and was assuming/hoping that it supported the file structure for movies extras that plex uses?

ie -behindthescenes, -deleted, -featurette etc etc

however i've forced re-scanned the libraries and those files are still showing up as separate items in the library and not within the movie they belong to.

do i need to do anything else to make them go where they should?

I will have to do some searching as this structure has been brought up before.

But currently I believe requires items in sub-folder structure.

Looks like the discussion started here.

I will do some testing to see if this was implemented in beta.  @@Luke

i am still running plex at the same time, so i can't change my file structure.

plex just requires the files to have the filename tagged and for them to be in the same folder as the movie file.

post 3 in that thread suggests that it should be supported?

What is your exact naming scheme and library content type, as mine get grouped.

content type is "movies".

this is the file structure currently used with plex.

Just saw that in the other topic.  Emby currently treats that naming convention as separate item.  They need to be named moviename-whatever "ie -behindthescenes, -deleted, -featurette etc etc".

ok so emby can't use the existing plex file structure.

oh well, that's game ender for me then.

Emby and Plex both support the same folder structure for extras. If, instead of having files named "nameofextra-deleted.m4v", you named it "Deleted Scenes\nameofextra.m4v", both Plex and Emby support that.

Yes I was wrong, sorry. This way of doing it has not yet been implemented. We can look into it though. Thanks.

it would be appreciated if you could, as i really don't want to have to change the structure of the existing and mature library.

ok so i've tried this with 1 movie.

created the sub-folders, moved the files to those sub-folders and renamed appropriately.

the extras now show up inside the movie listing.

BUT, the extras files are also showing up the main movies list

All my extras are in a subfolder called extras. Not sure if other subfolder names are supported

Movie extras

Special features for movies can be stored as video files in an extras folder under movie folders. Nested folders are not supported.

In addition to extras, several other sub-folder names are supported:

  •     extras
  •     specials
  •     shorts
  •     scenes
  •     featurettes
  •     behind the scenes
  •     deleted scenes
  •     interviews
  •     trailers
/Movies

   /Home Alone (1990)

      Home Alone (1990).mkv

      /extras

         deleted-scenes.mkv

      /behind the scenes

         video1.mkv

      /interviews

         video1.mkv

Note: Be sure the movie file has been put in place at the same time as or before adding extras to avoid the extras being mis-identified as movies themselves.
