New Statistics plugin

Original dev abandoned it and a new dev picked it up.  It is supported as new dev picked it up here.

I guess in theory this original topic should have been deprecated and a new topic created but it is what it is.  

Personally, not seeing any issue with v3.3.2.2

The original developer stopped supporting it a few years back. I took it over sometime after that. But we never made a new thread. There is still regular updates and enhancements. As such posting here in still vailed.

Ahh, that's great, I shal reinstall and see if the error persists- sorry!

I see that luckily I reinstalled the plugin and it already ran successfully, so I'll keep my fingers crossed:) It was not causing any problems other than errors on the main page, but still, need to keep it running as best I can. But all seems good, for whatever reason - an uninstall and reinstall and all is good. Running Official emby docker on an unraid. I have no clue if I am running the official emby server or Emby on ther unraid though. I didn't get why there was more than one option...

The latest version was failing for some, and since I'm traveling this week, I removed it. I currently have a new version out for testing. Will promote if/when it successfully passes.

So meantime Uninstall and Reinstall?? Worked for my by a pure fluke or coincindence! I don't know what version I had installed which was failing, but this is the one I have now. It seems to be ok. (3.3.2.1)

Yeah, 3.3.2.2 installed on 22nd, and every scan failed since, but back on 3.3.2.1 and all is good! I know this just may be my set up though!

yeah, 3.3.2.2 was the one not scanning. 3.3.2.1 does work, there are just a few use case issues we ran into with that one.
but yeah, @hackthis02is all over it. and making it run faster and more accurate for some things!
my server pretty much is centered around this plugin, and that man has been doing amazing work in the time he has to fix it!
i am thinking my next trip through his town, i will have to owe him a beer! or 9!

Yes, It also failed her with version 3.3.2.2 and I got this message:

Value cannot be null. I was seeing this error message too, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3.3.2.1, and it's fine again

Hi team,

After roll back to 3.3.2.1, my server make a new update to 3.3.2.3 now.

Scanning do no create error like with 3.3.2.2 a good point :)

But now I have strage issue. For example I have all episodes of "La casa de Papel" 48 items. And now statitics tell     30 / 41 (73%)
So first error I have 48 episode and not 30. And secondly there is at total 48 episode and not 41. (In worst case 15 episode as the Spannish version on Antenna 3 was differents).

Some of you have some issue like that ?
What can I do ? a new scan of all my media folder ? For sure I already do several "calculate statistics for TV show" and for user too.

Edit :  I just wanted to try to come back to version 3.3.2.1, but I didn't find the configuration page of Statistics, it's go directly to the plugin. Is it normal ?

You need to go to Plugins Section -> Catalog (On top) instead of My plugins (default view), then go to the statistics one and drop down to the desired version:

But this will not last, the plugin will be updated again in a few hours ... :(

@Lukeany option that in a future release a plugin update can be blocked ?

If we know something is no longer compatible and does something catastrophic like crash the server, then we’ll add something to the server to stop it from loading. 
 

normal updates are a little harder to make configurable. The vast majority of them are compatibility updates and preventing them will cause more harm than good.

I've fixed some issues were the plugin was reporting incorrect numbers from TVDB. There might be some discrepancies between what you had before and now have.
So I just checked TVDB for your show. It's showing only 41 aired episodes. So I would go thru your library and compare it to the TVDB entry.

Yes, but this is forcing to update plugins no matter what version of emby is installed, in this example, If I have installed v4.7, no plugin version above 3.1.0.0 will work properly.

Being able to stop updates at least for some time, would be very useful, even a warning to the user can be presented.

Just as an idea ..

I checked on TVDB you're right, it's why. It's write 41episode on aired episode. I don't know why TVDB say that. On TVDB Netflix order it's 48, that right. I don't know why TVDB find 41 episodes as if you check on wikipedia there is two possibility Netflix, or Antenna 3...  48 or 15 ^^

there is the netflix release, that was changed from the original release on netflix. i believe it was how different netflix locals aired it
i first watched it in kuwait, and it was X episodes, when i got back to the US, it was Y episodes.

on the "aired order" it is an option in the metadata for the series itself for one offs like this

same i have had to fix issues, usually on the one making the TVDB season lists.
example was disenchantment, tvdb did it wrong with 5 seasons, then someone fixed it
or 6 million dollar man that WAS right, then they took the 2 crossover episodes and placed them IN the season...
dont get me started on the million dollar man and bionic woman BS.....

noticing, it seems to be a lot of the same ones not detecting. could still be a time out/scans per min API limitation, who knows...
sadly server again is in heavy use, so logs are insane to try to filter through. i will try again later when i have no users to get a good debug log.

seems TVDB removed my listing for the official aired cnn release of "Secrets & Spies: A Nuclear Game" with 4 episodes and left the subscriber only, internet only UK only geo fenced/locked version with only 3 episodes.... meaning most people will have the wrong listing, and not know they are missing 1 of the episodes....

starting to think, with all the BS with TVDB doing dumb things....i am thinking of killing everything TVDB and sticking with IMDB and THEMOVIEDB....

sick of putting things in the REAL aired order, including from the official site, and having to fight TVDB who says "no, the ones that produced it are wrong"
