Help installing package on DS213j

Hi Guys,

 

I know this is a bit of an old topic but I am having trouble installing the emby package on my DS213j. No matter what I do it doesn't show up. I read the instructions on the main website but I am still having trouble getting the package to install. Can someone point me in the right direction or help me with this?

I cant seem to get to step 3. The source will add but the package wont show up in the community tab.

Everything appears ok from this side, we have plenty of using installing/updating 'Armada370' based systems.

Is your machine able to connect reliably to the Internet and has working name resolution (DNS)?

I can connect to the net with no problem. I’m not sure how to configure the DNS for emby. How would you do this?

If you can SSH to your machine, you could try and ping synology.emby.media - that should give a good idea as to whether you're system is configured ok.

 

This isn't Emby specific, but problems with connectivity are the most likely cause for not seeing the package appear in Package Center.

I am a bit confused on how to SHH to my machine. Is there a tutorial on how to do this? If so where can I find it?

Just to be sure, can you confirm your system is a DS213j, not a DS213+.

 

To enable SSH on your Synology system : DSM -> Control Panel -> Terminal & SNMP -> Enable SSH Service

If you don't normally or are not comfortable with having this enabled, then I suggest disabling again once you've run the above.
