I am new to Raspberry Pi and Emby please help

I managed to install NOOB lite and set eveything to run Emby but I can't seem to get to the folders each time emby tells me 

The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again.

please help I tried to set chmod permissions to emby user at the emby group with no luck, I really appreciate if you write the commands as I need some help in the Linux arena too.

Hi, how did you install emby?

I installed emby by following the instructions for Debian on the site

 

wget the link then dpkg install then started the server I mounted the external HDD I can access it in root but still can't find any file in emby I need to understand permissions more as I don't really right now but help in giving exactly what is needed to

 

1-install properly

2-setup external HDD

3-point to a folder to the HDD

4-access my emby library via the Internet
