GItHub download locations: Difference between Emby and Emby.Releases

I noticed that there are two download locations on GitHub for Emby server, corresponding to the Emby and Emby.Releases repositories. The download link on the main Emby website sends me to the latter location, but I have definitely pulled new version of Emby server from the former in the past. I also noticed that Emby.Releases has more recent releases right now.

 

So, what's the difference between these two? Perhaps the Emby.Releases repo can get a more descriptive README.md file to help folks like me?

Hi, you don't actually need to worry about github at all. The download links on our website will always link you to the proper location, wherever that location might happen to be at any given time:

https://emby.media/download

Partially, I will definitely use the links on the main website when there is any doubt.

 

I suppose my question is more for those of us who are familiar with GitHub, software development, or are maybe considering contributing to the project. I'm mostly just curious, but I admit it is an organization question.

It's just a matter that we chose to use them there. You can certainly go to github if you wish, but the website links could be changed without warning and that could lead you to not being able to find what you're looking for.
