I have the hdhr prime with cable card. With it connected up to emby everything comes across as .ts but when i look at the channel information from the hdhr prime on the HD channels it lists avc which from what i understand is .mp4.

I dont suppose there is someone that can tell me what is really happening?

They are both correct. Avc is the video codec, ts is the container.

That is the way it is H264 in a TS container. H264 is a codec mp4 is a container not the same.

And just to add, that's what a remux is. Doesn't change the codec, just the container.

So in emby terms thats what is happening when on the server dashboard it says direct streaming right ( as opposed to direct play which i believe means its not altering anything )
