everydayevil 6 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Since upgrading to 3.4.1.0 Emby is throwing an error whenever i try to scan or add media folders. the error it is giving is as follows... Could not find a part of the path '/var/lib/emby-server/root/default/Movies' The actual path is '/var/lib/emby/root/default/Movies' I have copied the emby/* path to emby-server/ and everything is working again. Not sure why this changed and didn't update the file path on disk. -everydayevil
everydayevil 6 Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 Actually the original path was /var/lib/emby-server/ and the new install updated the file path on disk to /var/lib/emby/ however internally it was still looking for everything on /var/lib/emby-server/ and not /var/lib/emby/
th0th 1 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I saw the same thing... just to be on the safe side, I symlinked /var/lib/emby-server to /var/lib/emby...
nightreap3r 0 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I saw the same thing... just to be on the safe side, I symlinked /var/lib/emby-server to /var/lib/emby... I noticed this too, the server starts when i symlink it. However once the server is running, i have issues. I can't play anything on an android device, as well as getting constant "Do you want to accept the SSL certificate?" prompts on android. Not asking for help in this thread, just wanting to point it out in case it's not just me.
Luke 42077 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Switching between our older install package that updated using apt-get update, and our new .deb based packages is something that wasn't really intended. They are currently not compatible. The best approach would be a fresh install of the new package, or a rename/symlinks of certain folders based on what this user did: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/58777-scan-media-library-failed-on-ubuntu-version-3410/?p=576120 Thanks.
lunix33 0 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 To fix your problem you only have to do ``` #> ln -s /var/lib/emby /var/lib/emby-server ```
vl1969 0 Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 not to intrude on the thread but can I move the default folders from "/var/lib/emby/data/" to my own location? I am building Emby server on Proxmox LXC container and want to bind-mount my data drives to it. since I already setup my Media folder on the drive I just want all to go there.
blublub 10 Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 To fix your problem you only have to do ``` #> ln -s /var/lib/emby /var/lib/emby-server ``` THX! That saved my butt today :-) !
