Long words put together that I don't really think is Swedish. I'll give you some examples. Ljudbakgrundsutseende - I don't understand what that is since the alternatives I can choose from are "Bakgrund" and "Huvudbild suddig" Genrevisningsgräns - It took me some time to understand what it means. I think it would be easier to understand if the translation was "Gränsvärde för visning av genrer". There is space enough for displaying this text. I have to say that I'm allergic to long "constructed" words put together that's hard to read and understand. I have seen 100's of them in the app. Agreed. Shouldn't be hard to understand at all. See you in pm.

gohaan5 0 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 (edited) Hi there! Really appreciate the opportunity to join the translation effort for Emby — it’s fantastic to see a project valuing multilingual support so clearly. I bring fluent [insert language] skills plus familiarity with localization workflows, and I’d love to contribute. Also wanted to mention that I work with a dedicated team at Interpreters & Translators who specialise in high-quality, human-driven translations and can scale if you ever need more languages or support across platforms. Looking forward to helping out! Edited October 31, 2025 by GrimReaper Link removed
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Is there any news on whether it's possible to implement a dark theme on the translation page?

To be honest with you, I'm afraid, it's a too low priority to start any new work on the site. At the side of Weblate, they are in the process of updating Bootstrap (the used UI framework) from version 4 to 5. At some point (but it could be more than a year away), we will do an update of Weblate - which will require to re-visit all our customizations - and as part of that work, we can also make our customizations work for the dark theme. It's not as easy as changing a switch - rather the opposite: I had to disable the dark mode because it requires us doing changes all the way down to certain artwork (bitmaps) for which we will need to design specific versions for the dark mode and finally, we need to figure out how to switch them accordingly from within our customization component. It's an amount of work for which we don't have the resouces available to spend at the moment, I hope can understand this. Thanks
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 It would be better if we knew something. I understand he has his job and that it's not a priority right now, given that there are other more pressing matters. But oh well, if it happens someday, great... if not, we'll just carry on as we are. Thanks and regards.

Hi, what he' saying is that we all agree that it's a good idea, it's just that the developer time is better spent elsewhere. (At least right now).
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Luke, I understand now. There's no problem. I understand there are many things, and some are more urgent than others... anyway... I was just asking if anyone knew anything. That's all. Regards 1
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 I already have the new version 4.9.1.90 and I see that these parts aren't translated. I don't know if it's just me or if they're not included in the release or whatever you're doing. I'm attaching a screenshot of more places within the server settings that also don't appear translated, even though everything else is supposed to be translated. I'll check a few more tomorrow. 1
The DLNA profiles section, I haven't included a screenshot but it doesn't appear translated either. MediaEmby1968 47 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I've noticed lately that the translation page is taking a long time to load. Is anyone else experiencing this?

NikeSwe 122 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 (edited) Still slow but it's mostly the initial visit Edited January 4 by NikeSwe
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 As my colleague correctly stated, it happens on the first load. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes less, but it's mainly the first time the page loads. In my case, it happens when I turn on my PC. It's been working a bit better now than these past few days when it was taking quite a while. Regards
softworkz 5065 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I was able to reproduce the slow load when loading translation for a specific language. Guys, for how long are you seeing this? It wasn't an issue at earlier times, right?

MediaEmby1968 47 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 This didn't happen before; I've only noticed it for the last 2 or 3 weeks.
NikeSwe 122 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 The initial visit has been slow for me for quite some time. I just ignored it.
softworkz 5065 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Could it be that the "initial visit" pattern (slow, then fast) resets after 1 hour?
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 In my case now it seems to be fine, normal charging, both on the first visit and subsequent visits. 1
softworkz 5065 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 After writing, I ran some DB maintenance tasks which seem to have brought things back to normal. The weak point with Weblate is the stats calculation (all the numbers you are seeing in the overview lists). They are cached for an hour, that's what causes the first-load-slow vs. subsequent-loads-fast effect you were seeing - and you are still seeing, but normally it's few-seconds vs. no-delay, not 30-60s on first-load. I also changed the thresholds for auto-maintenance, but not sure whether it will hit-in at the right times now. Please keep observing the behavior and let us know in case when it would become slower again. Thanks a lot for the feedback! 2
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 @softworkzThank you, I will do that; if I notice anything I will mention it. 1
