bmoses 9 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Hi - I switched over from using ServerWMC to the built in emby tv today. I have 2 devices for a total of 4 tuners. They are old units, one is a HDHR-US and the other is a HDHR3-US. Initially things were working good until i attempted to use more than 2 tuners at the same time. I had the HDHR-US setup as the first device and it would work but when trying to watch something while it was tied up the HDHR3-US would not engage. I restinalled the hd homerun software and removed and readded the tuners. I ended up added the HDHR3-US first and it started working but now the same thing is happening, when its tied up and i try and watch a 3rd stream the HDHR-US won't engage. I've attached the server logs from my testing tonight, can someone take a look and let me know please? server-63654920525.txt server-63654919922.txt server-63654916989.txt server-63654915562.txt
bmoses 9 Posted February 23, 2018 Author Posted February 23, 2018 i've also had this happen twice during my testing, currently the HDHR3-US has both of its tuners in use but no one is watching anything and the dashboard on the server doesn't show anyone watching anything, but the live tv tab shows them as watching. when it happened before i had to go down and power cycle the tuner to free it up. here is the log for that. server-63654920525.txt

In the HDHR Setup app what is BDA Compatability Mode set to on the configuration tab?

vaise 340 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 I spent a load of time on this - on multiple occasions, please see this thread of all my activities. I could not get my HDHR's (three of the same as you) to work once they left the one tuner, along with other issues that stopped me from going ahead. This thread may give you some insight : https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55619-initial-observations-of-emby-native-tv-with-hdhr-duals/

I'll make that change and try it out in a bit. Serverwmc isn't running but is still installed. Only thing I did in wmc was remove the series that were set to record so they didn't double record.

Those WMC will be probably not happen as scheduled. Keep that in mind please.

Keep that in mind please. changed that setting, no go i'm not concerned with WMC breaking as i'm trying to get away from it so i can upgrade my desktop that runs emby server to W10. anyway, when i changed that setting i started 2 streams up and as soon as i attempt a 3rd it actually locks up the other 2 streams and then they get stuck and i have to cycle the tuner and emby to get it working again.

This thread may give you some insight : https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55619-initial-observations-of-emby-native-tv-with-hdhr-duals/ yeah that doesn't sound like fun it does sound like my specific issue may be fixed or they are at least working on with it not moving onto the next tuner. question to anyone reading - while i would obviously prefer to get this working with what i have, i'm not against upgrading my tuner since i know its old and harder to support. whats the best most compatible hdhomerun tuner with emby? i took a look at their site and the connect quatro caught my eye since it has 4 tuners and won't break the bank. the only thing i can't find a 100% answer on is if it supports clearQAM? also would it be a good one to get for emby?

All of my HDHR tuners work great with Emby. HDHR-US, HDHR Connect and HDHR Prime. I can't personally speak to the other models, haven't heard of any problems with using them with Emby though.
