kikinjo 281 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Hi Emby theater cant play live tv streams at all, error in screenshot, while Emby WMC app from windows store plays it without any issue, same m3u, same channels. Really interesting, i will dig up logs and posti it. Windows 10, V1607, latest Emby server.
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I also noticed that the full Emby client won't always playback the M3U stream. When I launch a channel, the spinning wheel just spins for several minutes and then 50% of the time it will start playback. I was going to report this later today, so I'll send logs when I get home. I have not received the error message reported by kikinjo. Thanks.
kikinjo 281 Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 Same here Jason, spinning and in rare cases stream starts. Other than that this error and spinning... Weird is that Windows store client runs iptv streams without an issue.
Luke 42078 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 @@kikinjo, did you setup an external player?
kikinjo 281 Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 @@kikinjo, did you setup an external player? Hi Luke, Yes i did, afterwards i removed it. Tried to test the iptv provider. After removal this error does not pops up, but live tv is loading (spininig circle). Trying to find in logs something about it but no luck yet.
Luke 42078 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Best thing to do is provide the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Sorry for the delay, got tied up at work. This is the log when launching from the full ET client on server v3.2.60.9. Client v2.9.6. In this case, I selected a channel from the "On Now" section. The spinning wheel ran for about 2 minutes and then the stream started. If I try the same channel from the ET Windows Store client, it starts immediately. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks! ServerLog.txt
Luke 42078 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 can you attach the ffmpeg log as well? thanks.
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Hello, I've attached the FFMPEG log from the same time. FFMPEG.txt
Luke 42078 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 You could try turning off nvenc and see if that makes a difference. do you actually need the stream looping feature?
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 My previous provider needed the stream looping, but I've disiabled it now and the problem persists. Should I be setting my HW Accleration to Auto to disable nvenc?
Luke 42078 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 And the Emby Theater desktop app is the only app having a problem?
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Yes, I have two PCs in the house that have the desktop app installed and both are very slow to start the streaming (and sometimes fail to stream altogether), but all of my Store apps run perfectly.
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Also works perfectly in the web app. I found the NVENC setting in transcoding settings and turned it off, but it made no difference. The stream starts, but takes about 2-4 minutes. Let me know if I can provide any more info.
Luke 42078 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 can you send me the m3u so that i can test personally? thanks.
jasonwilliams 36 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Hi Luke, I've sent the m3u in a private message. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks, Jason
Luke 42078 Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Can you try the testing version and see how it compares? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/29774-new-version-testing/ Thanks !
jasonwilliams 36 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Just got a chance to try this and it worked for me. The channel launches immediately. There is an audio sync issue, but that can be fixed in settings.
