AkashKS 4 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I have a Windows 10 machine which I use as a media server, running Emby Server 3.2.36.0, and a client PC (also Windows 10) running Kodi 17.6 and Emby for Kodi 2.3.61. Everything is set up fine as far as movies and TV shows, etc. are concerned. My issue is with music. I have a small library of 91 songs (FLAC) on my server. They all have correct metadata tags, and I have used MusicBrainz Picard to ensure this. They all appear fine in Emby Server. The problem is getting them to show up in Emby for Kodi on the client side (client-side access is only required on the same network as the server). No matter what I try, the tracks do not appear in Emby for Kodi. There must be a setting I have overlooked, but I can't figure out what! Enable Music Library is checked; Direct stream music library is unchecked. Not sure where else I should be looking or what other information would be useful for me to provide here. Please could someone talk me through in total n00b steps how to get this working? I would really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance!
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 When you access music in Kodi, what do you see?
AkashKS 4 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 When you access music in Kodi, what do you see? Excuse the photo of a screen, but this PC's keyboard does not have a Print Screen key. So I click on Music, this is what I see:
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I see. Ok, launch the emby for kodi add-on > repair local database > music. Does that help any?
AkashKS 4 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 Also, I am not sure if I have an incorrect setting in one or more of the following: Emby Server Kodi Emby for Kodi
AkashKS 4 Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 I see. Ok, launch the emby for kodi add-on > repair local database > music. Does that help any? No. I still get the same screen after doing that. I feel I am missing something really simple. How do I check that the music library is pointing to Emby Server and not Kodi trying to find a library on the hard drive or something? (Sorry, I set up TV and Movies with Emby for Kodi years ago, and am setting up music for the first time now. I can't remember the steps/guide I followed to set up TV/Movies)
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) In the Emby dashboard > Users > Select the emby user connected in Kodi (I understand you see it in the webclient, but you could be logged into a diff account?) > Access > They have access to your music library? Can you provide your Kodi log? Edited December 21, 2017 by Angelblue05

Can you provide your Kodi log? Well Allow media playback is checked, so I should be able to play music the same as I can play TV and Movies. I am definitely logged in with the same account. However in the list of Libraries, all Libraries are unchecked, including the ones I can access without any issues. If you tell me where to find the Kodi log, I can post it. Thanks for your help so far, by the way. I may have to call it a night and continue tomorrow 1
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) Interesting that you still have access, but I believe that is the issue. You need to either Check Enable access to all libraries or check the individual libraries you want access to, including music and save. Once that is done, try doing a repair in Kodi again. This time it should pick up on the library. Edited December 21, 2017 by Angelblue05

When I referred to the list of Libraries, I was looking under the Profile tab at the Media Deletion section! So, in answer to your question, under the Access tab, Library Access section, Enable access to all libraries is checked, and has been all along. Any ideas? Thanks. Edited December 22, 2017 by AkashKS
Angelblue05 4132 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) Provide a Kodi log of the following test: Launch Emby for Kodi > repair local database > music. Thank you. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/17599-how-to-report-a-problem/ Edited December 22, 2017 by Angelblue05
