Android TV dpad login problems with 3.2.40

I'm having some problems with dpad login on 3.2.40.

When I enter my password I get a "invalid user or password" error, tried changing the easy pin code but I keep getting the same error.

I also noticed that other users that did not have a pin number set now have a lock icon next to them.

Upgraded from 3.2.36 which did not have these issues, and I just rolled back to a snapshot I took before upgrading so I can confirm 3.2.36 does not have this issue.

I wonder if this has something to do with this issue: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/52492-security-issue-with-easy-pin-code-local-network-detection/

Since my emby server and android tv box are on different subnets.

You're trying to log into the android tv app?

Yep forgot to mention that in the previous post, android tv app on a mibox.

Is the issue really limited to just using the d-pad technique in that app?

Yes seems to be, or well I didn't try turning off d-pad in the app so I don't know if the users could log in with a pin or without a password with d-pad turned off.

But the Android app and the web interface worked as previously.

Can you please try turning off the d-pad option to see if the issue persists?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, I have confirmed that with the d-pad option the issue persists.

Okay, so the issue is not related to that option. You are sure you are providing a valid pw?

Are you able to log into the web app?

I was wrong in a previous post where I stated that the web app and android phone app worked correctly, also this does not seem to be bound to the dpad login.

I can not log with the easy pin code when on a different subnet on versions newer than 3.2.36, and the full password works.

When connecting from the same subnet, the easy pin code still works.

Ok so that explains it, it's not really an app-specific issue. can you please provide an emby server log from this attempt? thanks.
