Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Would it make a difference it you provided "Shared network folder"? (Optional) Shared network folder: If this folder is shared on your network, supplying the network share path can allow Emby apps on other devices to access media files directly.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 the test folder is local to the server and not shared on the network Why do you think it would make a difference?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Does the app have direct access to the files?

I don't have an explanation. But it starts the file and immediately thinks it has reached the end. The app will handle this and automatically switch to transcoding, so all you have to do is press play and enjoy your video.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted October 4, 2017 Author Posted October 4, 2017 Yes that maybe the case - why a fair amount of the time the file begins to play for a second or two then crashes and you have to try again. I am trying to avoid transcoding not just accept it. If its outside your control and its libvlc that has the problem - i will investigate further as i think i know what the problem is but want to test a bit more. 1
