Duplicate Devices in Emby

Hi all,

 

I'm reposting this in this section as Angelblue05 advised me. Could a mod please close/delete the thread in the Kodi section.

 

I'm in the same boat as the guys in these threads:

Has anyone ever solved this? It startet after updating the Kodi plugin from 2.3.49 to 2.3.52. It happened on both of my NUCs.  I now see both versions of the Kodi plugin in the dashboard. I can delete the deprecated device and restart emby server, after this it is gone. But after rebooting a NUC, they're back. I tried deleting addon data and guid files on the Kodi side, as well as creating a new device guid. I tried deleting the devices from the emby dashboard with reboots several times. I cleaned emby cache, I deleted the files from the devices folder... I'm out of ideas. :/

 

Emby Server: 3.2.30.0 on Synology DSM 6.1.3 Update 3

 

Not sure if one of the logs is of any help, but I attached it anyway.

 

Help would be appreciated.

The device id is never changed with emby for kodi unless you go in the addon settings > advanced > generate a new device id or reinstall Kodi.

 

On my server, I have a "ghost device" for emby theater. When users log into this particular app-device, two entries shows up in active devices, but only one is updated with what's playing.
