quickmic 1703 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Referencing to this thread, I've exactly the same problem. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/43643-kodi-music-videos/#ipboard_body Not sure, why the original thread is locked. Edited August 6, 2017 by quickmic
LongMan 112 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 @@quickmic A possible cause of your problem is that there is no album for the music video. The Hierarchy is Artists>Albums>Videos. If there is no album for the music video, then there is nothing to show for the second level. If your are comfortable with nfos you can roll your own test. If not, Copy the information below and put it into a text file and give it the name Test Artist - Test Album Test Music Video.xml, (or whatever you feel appropriate) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><musicvideo> <title>Test Music Video</title> <artist>Test Artist</artist> <album>Test Album</album> <track>1</track> <genre>Test Genre</genre> <genre>Pop</genre> <runtime></runtime> <plot>Test of album heirarchy</plot> <date>8/7/2017</date> <year>2017</year> <studio>Emby</studio> <director>Me</director> <uniqueid type="unknown">004824</uniqueid></musicvideo> Copy a music video and rename it Test Artist - Test Album Test Music Video.ext (mkv, mp4, avi, mpg etc) (or the same as you named the file above, if you chose another anme) Put both in a folder call Test Artist Place the folder in your music video source folder on the HDD Go the appropriate library on Emby Web client, choose Scan Library > Scan for new and updated files (for that individual library). The new video should now be in your library. Return to Kodi. Choose Music Videos >Artists>Test Artist. If your see Test Album, then you know what the problem is. Hope that helps. Cheers, LongMan 1
quickmic 1703 Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 That would explain a lot. I'll give it a shot. thx
quickmic 1703 Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) This was a perfect hit I added a dummy album, now it works fine. Btw, I guess it's up to Kodi itself not the plugin which defines the hierarchy. Maybe this behavior can be reconfigured... Anyway, I google it. thx again, showing me the right direction Edited August 7, 2017 by quickmic
LongMan 112 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 No problem. Glad I could help. Yeah, the hierarchy is determined by Kodi and I don't think you can change it. The truth is Music Video in Kodi needs some love. However it has not annoyed anyone, with the skill, enough for them to 'caress' it. DaveTBlake has been working on music a ton. Hopefully, music videos benefit from this later.
