This is obviously not a major issue (although fix should be quick) but it would be really nice to see proper regional formatting applied to the dates in the Emby interface.

Currently the dates in the Latest News feed appear to be formatted in US style (month/day/year) which can be very deceptive for people that use day/month/year. For example, in the below, this shows (to Australians at least) that version 3.2.19 was released on the 6th of February, 2017. Based on this I would think that the update is 4 months old and would expect bugs would've been addressed etc. I'm sure it would be beneficial to many people to have the date displayed correctly in their native format.

Interestingly, I just changed to English (UK) which has put the dates in the format we use in Australia. However, we normally don't use English (UK) in Australia as they have a different keyboard layout, and use £ instead of $ etc. So although Australian English spelling is more similar to the UK, we typically choose English (US) in software for the better fit.

I guess having found this, the only real solution would be adding English (Australia) as an option which is probably unfeasible (although if the only real effect is the date formatting, then we're set already!). Either that, or using the regional settings in the OS to determine the date format (if that's possible).

Totally understand if you don't feel this issue is worth spending any time on, but Emby is close to perfect, so I thought I'd at least point out one of the very few blemishes :)

Happy to do this - however I think all that is required is an exact duplicate of English (UK). I'm happy to provide any assistance to verify/test this.

I have posted over in the Join the Translation team topic.

While English (Australia) is virtually identical to English (UK), most Australians tend to select English (US) as we use US keyboard layout ($ not £ etc), however doing so in Emby we end up with the wrong date format. Would it be possible to add English (Australia) but basically just make it a copy of English (UK)? This would just make the language selection more natural for Australian users.

If I can assist with checking everything is correct for Australian English please let me know (and point me in the right direction to do so).

We may need a separate setting for date locale.

I use UK English settings very often in software. Keyboard layout is an independent setting in any OS I've ever used.  The only difference is time offsets if you tie that to language settings. If time offset was a separate setting (as it always should be) there's no huge need for an AU translation. Unless you favoUr doing it yourself :P
