Scrambled Emby Database with Kodi 17, multiple profiles

Ever since updating to Kodi 17, my Emby databases get "scrambled" (i.e., intermixed) between the four profiles that I have defined.

That is, the TV shows that are presented in the list include some TV shows from other profiles; when corrupted, both the list of TV Shows and the Recommended Episodes lists include bogus entries.

The database can be fine for several days (and any number of profile switches) after an Emby add-on database reset, and after onset, the TV shows profiles become increasing intermixed.  Each profile will have all its own shows, but TV shows from other profiles creep in.

I keep looking for a similar problem report, but I have not seen one.  I suspect I use some combination of features to expose the problem.

My setup is:

  • Kodi 17.2, Emby addon 2.3.47, LibreElec 8.0.1
  • Raspberry Pi 3 (and also NexBox) running on LibreElec (using [8.0.1j] LibreELEC 8.0 for S905/S905X | LibreELEC for the NexBox)
    • both systems exhibit the problem with Kodi 17.0 and Kodi 17.1
    • neither system exhibited the problem with Kodi 16.x
    • both systems are up-to-date
  • Five Kodi profiles with at least daily switching, mostly between two or three profiles
  • Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO skin (also up-to-date)  ... I love the skin an would hate to give it up
  • A relative small set of other Add-ons and few that I actually use except NextPVR
    • Emby is the add-on that I use 98% of the time, and I do not think the use of other add-ons triggers the problem.  The problem happens the system that I use only Emby for viewing.

It is as if old threads continue to run after a profile switch.  Typical log gathering seems unlikely to help since (1) I cannot predict when there will be problem, and (2) the problem spans multiple sessions.

Advice is appreciated.  Is the problem known?  Is it likely the skin is the problem?  Or LibreElec? Any advice whether to bother with logs and, if so, and particularly advice for this genre of problem?

Do you have something set in your advancedsettings? I run multi-profile no problem. But I'm not on Krypton.

I have no advancedsettings configured (i.e., there is not even an advancedsettings.xml file in the userdata folder).

Until I upgraded to Krypton, I had no problems either.  The beta versions of Kyrpton, w.r.t. scrambling the Emby database, were even worse than the official releases ... things when south very quickly.   The official release was (deceptively) better because the problem took much longer to develop ... so long that I thought the matter was fixed and upgraded.
