No Chromecast Emby on Blackberry

using the latest beta app of emby and the chromebrowser on mu mobile blackberry (android 6.0.1) i only have My device under select player.

When playing from a windows device i can select chromecast from the menu.

Other apps do have a chromecast option, so it seems to be emby related ?

Hi, just tested and I don't see any problems with Chromecast showing up. Remember that Chromecast depends on Google Play Services so if you've disabled anything on your device then that will definitely cause a problem.

I think i got all 'how to report an Android problem' boxes ticked,  except the server log (because the stable emby app / webbrowser doesnt have the problem) issue is that all other apps using chromecast function behave as expected, it's only the emby app on my phone causing the issue.

Uninstalled the emby app from my phone, and reinstalled it.

Still no cast fuctionallity in the emby app.

tested some other new apps, but they aswell as my android OS has a cast function to my devices.

it's really only the emby app.

We are using the google cast libraries. It searches your network and tell us if any chromecast devices are found. We simply display the results we get back from it.

I know, but all other apps and the native screen cast work as expected, the only app that doesn't find cast devices is the emby app.

I just tried this on my S8 (android 7.0) and I can cast to various chromecasts.

I also tested this on my GF phone, and i can cast with emby there to, only with my phone i'm unable to cast from either the App and the Chrome browser.. any other chromecast app including google home works.

New chapter in this saga, 

just got a brand new phone, installed eveything again...

But as you can guess, no chromecast option for the emby app, everything else works perfectly (casting whole screen youtube all other apps)

Except the emby app..

I have not been able to reproduce as it always works on the first try for me. You could try the open beta version as it has updated Google cast libraries. Thanks.

i'm already running the beta version.

Strange this is, both the web interface (chrome browser) as the app wont select anything else then My Device as cast option.

All other apps i'm using as well as the screen duplicate option can cast to all my devices..

i know the app uses google cast library's, but all other apps must be using the same option ?

so what makes emby different on my phone ?

Can you test in Chrome with the web app and then copy and paste the contents of the browser console, and attach them here? thanks.

Yes, this works.

To sum up the issue:

- Casting with Emby App and other apps using chromecast on a Nexus 6X = ok

- Casting with Emby App and other apps using chromecast on a Nexus 5 = ok

- Casting with Emby on Chrome browser & other Sites windows 10 = ok

- Casting with Emby on Chrome browser & other Sites ChromeOS= ok

- Casting with Emby App on 2 different Blackberry Android phones = No go

- Casting with browser & any other App supporting Chromecast & Mirror screen on phone on 2 different Blackberry Android phones = OK

So the issue lies with the emby app doing something different than all other Chromecast apps on a Blackberry STV100-4 Android 60.1
