roboziggy 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I just installed Embly last night. Set up library for 4 folders in the media file folders. Embry shows 113 video files a mix of mkv and mp4. When I open the DLNA server in my ROKU TV, it says 113, but will only show 50. What am I doing wrong?
Happy2Play 9784 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Why are using DLNA on a Roku TV, when there is a Roku app?
Happy2Play 9784 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Theme: blue neon night Emby for Roku Channel There is also a Preview app in beta testing.
roboziggy 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 I am a newbie at this. I have been using boxee box for several years. But this is my 1st ROKU device (Hisense ROKU TV). So please explain what you mean.
roboziggy 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 ROKU TV has the ROKU Media Player channel. It needs a DLNA server so it can see the media on the "server" (my pC hard drive and local network.
legallink 187 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Go into the Roku channel store and search for Emby. Install it and you don't need to use the DLNA services. 1
roboziggy 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 thank you. I had already installed it. You think I may have a conflict? with the emby DLNA server, now? How do I access the ROKU plug in/channel on my PC?
Happy2Play 9784 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) thank you. I had already installed it. You think I may have a conflict? with the emby DLNA server, now? How do I access the ROKU plug in/channel on my PC? You can't as it is a app for the Roku. But it presents everything you see in the web client. http://localhost:8096 or http://ipaddress:8096 Edited February 28, 2017 by Happy2Play
roboziggy 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) OK, that worked. I installed the emby roku channel, then put in the PIN displayed on my ROKU TV, and inow, I can see all the vids and pics. Even the 10 bit anime's I have downloaded. The reason I even started to look for a DLNA server for ROKU was because the BOXEE BOX does not support or transcode 10 bit. We'll see how this goes. Oh, how do I change the sub titles? I like my anime in the original language and use English subs. English dubbed ones just don't sound right, LOL. In BOXEE, I can change them if they are embedded, or has a separate sub file. roboziggy 0 Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Well, I feel stupid. To change subs and audio, it is a menu option in the Emby Roku channeol after clicking on the vid you want to see. It is under the play or resume play, 1st menu. Duh.
