PiERiT 2 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Just switched from Plex and am liking the increased performance of Emby, but there are a couple things seemingly missing that would be great if they were possible: 1. When selecting a view inside of a library, date added for instance instead of name, it doesn't seem to stick if you exit the library or the app. Additionally, I have the server set to use metadata to find when a video was created, and I can sort by that date in the web player, but not the app. 2. Can you hide the whole Continue Playing section, or can you stop certain libraries from appearing in it? Similar to above, seems possible in the web player but not on the Roku. Lastly, I see the server can do hardware acceleration and I've chosen the Nvidia option. Does that actually do anything for the Roku app? Thanks in advance.
Luke 42077 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 To answer the question about hardware acceleration, yes it would apply to all apps. The other things you're mentioning are just a matter of time to make them consistent with the web app.
PiERiT 2 Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 Cool, thanks. Will the preview app automatically update or do I need to download it again each time there's a new version?
speechles 2055 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) Its like every other roku app. They auto update when the roku is idle on the homescreen. Otherwise you can manually system update to update them immediately. Also, nice username.. heh.. pie is good. Pie rit ave ree ting 1) yeah, unlike the official app, the preview isnt remembering filter/sort 2) unfortunately, this is the modern view. All the stuff you want, and stuff you dont. It would be better if there was a row with favorites, continue playing, latest, etc as tiles rather than as rows of themselves. In this way they are still there, just not forced in your face to begin with. This is how I made the blue neon night version of the official app. Those views are there if you click the tile. Otherwise ignore them easily as its all in one row. Edited February 26, 2017 by speechles
