elChupete 2 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Hi there, like reported in this thread I have the same issue with filenames containing German Umlaute (Ä Ö Ü): I have recently switched from Kodi internal DB to Emby. All works fine, except for files containing a öäü in the filename or path. These files are not reachable for Kodi. When I change the filename to ae instead of ä, once updated the file is accessible. Running latest Emby Server Version 3.2.1.0 on Synology DS414 and Kodi 17.0 on a Mac mini latest os sierra Any ideas? Thanks Stefan

Except for the log and the emby add-on version no., what did I forgot /did I made wrong? Edited February 23, 2017 by elChupete

elChupete 2 Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 OK Thanks. Could it be an Emby Server issue? I am asking, because after renaming its working fine. It also worked using a lokal DB instead of Emby Server
Luke 42078 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 No because that is just direct file access. I am guessing that the above path is not correct but of course only you can answer that.
elChupete 2 Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 Nope - path is correct (Mac File Info) and Emby Server MetaData Manager using substitution to replace smb://DataBox with /Volumes If filename and folder name is changed to ../movie/Das Bourne Vermaechtnis (2012)/Das Bourne Vermaechtnis (2012).mkv the movie is played. Just tried something else: added a "ä" to a filename, which previously did not contained any "umlaute". After Emby has updated and synced to Kodi - Movie not played Change back to original name - Movie played. Very Strange Will make sure not to use any special characters and rename existing files.... Strange though
