MP4 videos on my local server not playing on my roku box.

i am new to emby and roku, so possible i am doing something silly.

 

My TV is powered by a roku box.

 

my server in a windows 7 machine and all other videos are working fine.

 

i have created a personal videos and photos folder and a movies folder. the videos are shown on the roku box but when i click play it just flashes the sceen and back to same screen.

It's a Now Tv box... emby is sideloaded onto it.

 

Not sure if I can update the firmware on that

Which app and version number is sideloaded?

Emby sideloaded is version 2.2 - build 5... haven't been able to find any newer version to sideloaded on nowtv

Hey Luke... yes... the other videos that I have played do work... it's only the MP4 that is not working ...

All MP4 videos don't play... the screen just flashes and that's it ....

Maybe this one should be transcoding. Do you have any that say AVC Yes? Try one of those. thanks.

Is the audio bitrate really 5 kbps?

Only thing I could think to try is the "Theme: blue neon night" app.

The snapshot has been taken from the windows 7 .. which is my emby server aswell.

 

 

@@Luke .... transcoding is set to auto... do i need to do anything on that

I think this video should be transcoding, not direct playing. We just have to find the right criteria to use to determine that. Thanks.

Hey guys.... Its working now.... 

 

I gues the blue neon night app did the trick... even though it wasnt working ... but the age old trick of restarting my win7 (Which is my emby server)... in conjuction made the world a happy place again .. thanks guys... you are awesome...
