akira6968 6 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 So, about 1-2 months ago Emby for Android started playing most files like this, but not all. At this point, it seems to be everything. On or off wifi, transcoding or not, doesn't make a difference. I restarted the server of course, and enabled debugging in logs. I also tried the newest version of ffmpeg, cuz I dont know what I'm doing lol. Reverted back to the April 2016 version I've been using cuz newer version just resulted in black screen in most cases, this distortion otherwise. Server version 3.1.2.0 App version is up to date. Every other playback method works perfect, even when transcoding over mobile data (chrome on PC, chrome on Android). Dunno if relevant, and I know it's in the log, but I'm using a Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910P). Same thing on my wife's phone.....but it's the same model LOL. Have to wait for kids to get home to try on any other models. ffmpeg-transcode-e03e47e8-4ce8-4730-844a-be3bd933f0fe.txt server-63620395407.txt 0ffcb12d-9f9a-4969-80f6-6b85e33615fb.log 1
akira6968 6 Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Dragged out a Galaxy S3 phone....updated the app and it's either a black screen (direct stream) or it completely freezes (transcoding). I dunno lol.
Teddy 100 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) Same with cellular Samsung Note 4 . No problem using app external player. Edited January 20, 2017 by Teddy
x-cimo 23 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Both my Note4 have the same issue. Other android device i've tried are fine. This was reported here but I don't think the issue has been acknowledged: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42874-dual-blurry-video/&do=findComment&comment=401410 Devs can you help with this issue?
x-cimo 23 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I just pulled the latest android beta, wiped the cache & store. Problem is still there unfortunately.
x-cimo 23 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Today's update appear to have fixed the issue. I'm curious, what was it?
Luke 42077 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Nothing was done to the video player, perhaps it was a software update on your device?
akira6968 6 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 soooo..... maybe access to previous versions isn't such a bad idea? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/22871-previous-versions/ personally, I hate updates. now I've got a broken app, and a server that makes me wait 15 seconds to watch anything. :/ is it at least buffering while I wait? XD
akira6968 6 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 in regards to the wait time- it's particularly inconvenient when you've only got, say, two minutes or less to watch some....adult material.... ijs. it happens, man.
Luke 42077 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I need to do some additional testing. it might be due to libvlc hardware acceleration.
Rumbaar 13 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 This is the same issue, I've reported here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44196-tv-media-not-playing-correctly/ I've updated my thread with latest version of my server logs.
Luke 42077 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Please see here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44760-2859-video-osd/ If you could try the beta that would be helpful. Thanks !
x-cimo 23 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I've talked too fast before. But for now it appear to be fixed!!! Ill try a couple more time
valementar 0 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Beta app resolved this for me as well, on the note 4. Thanks!
x-cimo 23 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Yup it is fixed. No issue for many days now. Thanks Luke
