Aspect Ratio Is Off

I am not sure exactly when this started, but I have noticed through the last few movies I watched (actually watched instead of background noise) that the aspect ratio is off. I am on server 3.1.2.0 playing through an Intel NUC running Emby Theater. I checked display settings on the NUC and on my TV (I am using an HDMI over Cat6 relay so it isn't the TV for sure but I checked anyways) and they look normal. I tested several different movies including a couple that I know are letterboxed and they all stretch to full screen. I looked through the settings in Theater and couldn't find anything about ratio skewing.

I hope I am not just loosing my mind with this, has anyone else noticed this? Any suggestions on what else to check?

Thanks!

You may be playing anamorphic DVD rips with ET's video renderer set to EVR+.

Try changing the renderer to MadVR instead.

(I just tested an anamorphic DVD rip and it plays correctly with EVR and MadVR, but is stretched with EVR+).

Or better yet just set the Video Renderer to Auto, which is the default anyway.

Would it be possible for the Auto option to select EVR+ and cause the problem?

Only on Windows N systems where Evr is not available.

Noticed this last night for the first time myself, my daughter and i sat down to watch Max Steel which is 1920x800, yet Emby Theatre wanted to play it in full screen and everything looked stretched, no settings had been changed in ET. I just checked it on my pc and it plays at the correct ratio, will fire up the HTPC now and check it again as i have noticed ET doing some strange things lately but if you close it and restart all goes back to normal.

EDIT: @@Luke I just went and checked and the HTPC is trying to play every movie in full screen and ignoring aspect ratio it is running ET 2.5.34, my main PC is running ET 2.5.32 and all movies play as they should on that.

Like Brendon I am on ET 2.5.34. I just checked video settings and it already was on Auto, I switched it to MadVR and tests are good with the correct aspect ratio playing. Whatever is causing the issue, I think it might be with the auto detect feature on ET. The playback machine is Win7x64.

Can you guys share a sample? I'd like to test them.

A sample of what? The playback machine is Win7x64, the version of ET is 2.5.34, and the renderer was set to Auto (now it is on MadVR and working correctly).

A sample of file that doesn't play correctly

@ it's not file specific mate it was doing it on every movie i tried, i did as Theodore has and switched to MadVR and all is good so i guess it is the Auto option that is playing up and not selecting correctly.

Ok, thanks. The scaling fix that was made should only be applied to Evr and not Evr+. We'll get an update out to resolve that. Thanks.
