Issues updating to 3.1.0 on Ubuntu 16.04

Good evening all,

 

Please bear with me as I'm not a linux guru. I'm running into an issue my system which is Ubuntu 16.04 currently running Emby Version 3.0.8500.0.  I had set up Emby last summer when 16.04 did not have a repository under the instructions.  I had found where someone had stated on another site to add the 15.10 repository and install it that way.  I since then have gone back and updated the repositories to point to 16.04 and get the new key per the install instructions.  But it will not update the Emby server.  What do I need to do?  Is this an issue of completely removing the emby server and installing again?  Thanks for the help and Happy Holidays.  I'll be able to check this topic from my phone but probably will not have proper time to any real work on the server until after Christmas.

My Upgrade wont work either its seems there's a release file missing

this is what i get when I run apt-get update and the upgrade wont work either

 

I ran the following:

 

wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:emby/xUbuntu_16.10/Release.key

apt-key add - < Release.key

apt-get update

 

My Version is:

 

Distributor ID: Ubuntu

Description:    Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS

Release:        16.04

Codename:       xenial

 

 

the error is:

Hi @ it looks like you are using the 15.10 repository when you should be using 16.x. Please check our instructions for your Ubuntu version to confirm which repository you should use:

 

https://emby.media/linux-server.html

Luke I originally installed and updated emby from 15.10 repository. I recently noticed 15.10 was not being supported so I added the 16.04 repository and key and remove the 15.10repository. I then tried and update but received the message that emby server was kept back. Is there something else I need to do to get more details of why it will not update off of the 16.04 repository?

to successfully go from 3.0.8500 to 3.1.0 i've donne an "apt dist-upgrade" after the "apt update & upgrade" 
Otherwise it will not upgrade to the last emby-server

"apt dist-upgrade" updated my server to 3.1.1.  This thread is closed for me.  Thanks for the help.
