Studio cleaner end result

Unless I'm missing a step, I fail to see the expected end result of using studio cleaner. I did use the Save button once I was done mapping....

Studios names I have mapped to some other names still show up both in emby server (media/movies/studios) as well as in Kodi.

Had a bunch of "Apollo-something" that I all mapped to just "Apollo", yet all the "Apollo-something" still show up

Did you confirm the studio strings match exactly (those look quite long)?  Did you run a library scan after making the changes?

Studio strings as in info and path? Yes, that seems to match.

I didn't run a library scan as it was not mentionned, contrary to genre cleaner:

This has been resolved for the next release of emby server

Media refresh is over, as with genre cleaner, unwanted studio are gone from emby media, although they're still showing up in kodi

Kodi has a separate database that has to be resynced correct?

I performed manual sync, it didn't remove any studios.

I don't remember what exact final step I had to do with genre cleaner so the unwanted genres where gone, but it scanned for like 3 days.

IMO, the whole genre/studio cleaner process should be more streamlined; hopefully that is what Luke has announced in the next server release...

Not only Perform Manual Sync didn't remove any unwanted studios, it seems to have brought back all the ones I had removed in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks for the report. Please try again with the next releases of Emby Server and the plugin.

Because of the server upgrade, I am retrying Studio Cleaner this morning. (Had mixed success before)

I have cleaned just out a few studios, happy to see that once I'm done, hit Save and hit Scan library, that last step now seems to be doing what its supposed to do.

I will report back on the end result later.

One thing though, I notice Studio cleaner has its own "unique" way of sorting studio name.

Notice how emby jumps from tenth's to hundreds to thousands, while Kodi (like windows) use proper alphanumeric sorting

:( Studio cleaner still not working as expected for me

For instance, I had a studio named "61* Productions Inc."

I trashed it (among others), hit save, then hit library scan

Moments later, I noticed Kodi was furiously updating movies, so I thought, GREAT, its working!

Studio cleaner doesn't list this studio anymore, yet when I go in emby media movies studios, this studio is still there

As well, it is still appearing in kodi

Back to square one(?)

Can your post a server log.

does it have movies listed under the studio?

CharleyVarrick

Yes the same one as before

If you click on the movie does it list that studio?

CharleyVarrick

You must mean click on edit info, if so yes

The only place where it got removed is within studio cleaner

Should be simple to reproduce, just find an obscure studio that list a single movie, note it down (for future "repair") then from studio cleaner you trash this studio

Once you arrive at your conclusion you could edit back in the studio you noted (that is, if it removed it on your side)

I remembered I also mapped a studio called "A BandApart" to the actual one named "A Band Apart"

Same result: in studio cleaner they now show as the later but when I navigate to media/movies/studios, I still see both as separate entities.
