Is it possible to watch video when Emby is offline?

I have been experiencing an issue with Kodi for Emby where, if my computer is not hooked up to the internet, it will not allow me to play any videos that Emby uses.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Is there a way to watch my videos offline?

I've tested quite recently and it works fine to watch offline as long as the device can reach the server. But please provide your Kodi log so we can have a look, thanks.

Edit: Does it eventually end up working  after trying more than once? I find that other add-ons that pull from the internet interfere with playback when not connected to the internet and it causes the process to hold up and fails playback (Kodi timed out essentially). But it only usually happens once or twice. Anyway, a log would give us more info.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were asking while the server is offline. No we do not support this at this time. However, you can use native playback mode which will allow Kodi to playback the file even if the server is offline. Note if you are currently using add-on playback and you decide to make the switch to native playback, then you'll need to reset your local database to apply the changes.

@Angelblue05

Sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread in a few days. Been pretty busy.

Just so we're on the same page though. My current set up is as follows: Desktop PC w/ Emby Server and Kodi on it which is the only PC I use for watching my library

What happens currently is, if my computer is hooked up to my internet, Kodi for Emby works perfectly fine with playback and everything. But, if my computer is off of the internet (internet down, unplugged from ethernet port,...etc), when I try to watch my library on it, it won't allow me to play the videos.

Does that make sense? Just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing.

Yes, I understood what you meant the second time around (with the edit). Did you change playback mode to native playback and reset your local database? Even with using add-on playback, it should work. I've tested it the other day. Does it eventually work if you retry to playback again? Let me know.

Otherwise provide your Kodi file: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/17599-how-to-report-a-problem/
