Can't run setup of emby after norton quarantined file

Recommended Posts

First attempt at installing Emby for Windows in Windows 10, received a notification that Nortons was blocking MEDIABROWSER.SERVER.INSTALLER.APPLICATION.

Now every time I try to run setup it fails.   the log is attached.

How do I now get Emby installed?   Re-trying the download page, simply results in running setup again and failing the same was as the attached log...

Help !   I'm about to give up on Emby.

Sound like you will have to make an exception in Norton.

You can also try the portable installation, also available on the  download page.

I tried making the exception in Nortons... even disabled the download checking for 30 minutes... but the setup.exe still fails.

might try the portable.

You can download the zip file and manually update as Luke suggested.  Get zip file extract, this gives you a new system folder, navigate to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server and rename system folder to system.old (you can delete the previous .old folder, and move the extract system file to server folder.

Here is the current stable https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases/tag/3.0.5972

OOPS new install you can use the same process but it the same process if you want to create the Emby-Server folder.
