SOLUTION:

kodi not being updated: library -> advanced and check realtime monitor

no sets showing up: I could never figure out, but it was machine related. Purged kodi and deleted the .kodi folder. Upon reinstallation, everything showed up as it should.

I run kodi 16.1 on two different boxes. I was using MySQL to sync my libraries, but then read about Emby so I thought I would give it a shot. It was working great for awhile, but now I have noticed a couple of problems:

1. Emby is not recognizing new media unless I hit scan library.

2. This in turn, means my kodi databases are not being updated.

3. I think this is unrelated, but all my sets have been wiped out.

Here is my setup:

WHS 2011

-Emby 5972 (newest build as of this post) with Auto Box Sets and Emby.Kodi.Sync.Queue

HTPC 1

-Ubuntu minimal 14.04.4

-Kodi 16.1

HTPC 2

-RPi 3 running RetroPie 4.4.9

-Kodi 16.1

Hi, welcome. Go into library -> advanced and check if the realtime monitor is enabled or not.

You have got to be kidding me! I looked over every setting before I posted, because I did not want to look like an idiot. I can't believed I missed that. Thanks for helping me.

How about for my minor annoyance of sets? Before Emby, my movies showed in set, such as Avengers, Halloween, Harry Potter. Now, there are no sets. Auto box set seems to be populating TMDB sets, but this is not transferring over to kodi.
