sscotty 0 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I have tried to download and install Emby for Windows several times and run the installer. It will not work, no mater what Windows installation I run it on. I have been trying since around March 2016. I always get the same error: An error occurred trying to download 'http://raw.githubusercontent.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/master/Server/windows/release/MediaBrowser.Server.Installer.application'. When I point my browser at: "http://raw.githubusercontent.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/master/Server/windows/release/MediaBrowser.Server.Installer.application"I get to an XML page. I don't think anythings being blocked here. I shut down all firewalls, and I tried bypassing my router also. I have had Emby successfully installed on my Windows 7 PC on my network before. Around Dec 2015 and before, I had been using Emby with my Roku for about 6 months, before I decided to change some hardware and reinstall the OS. I have been trying to start over and get the installer to just work on any of my Windows PC's for a few months now. I have reviewed the quickstart guides, I have run thru the communities/windows pages and have googled this problem but no luck yet. I have installed Plex and been using it to watch my media, but I would rather use Emby.. I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing something else here. Pls help.
Solution Luke 42085 Posted May 8, 2016 Solution Posted May 8, 2016 I actually just changed the installers tonight, they are not on github anymore. please try again from the website: http://emby.media/download.html 1
sscotty 0 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 when i run "rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache" i get an error saying no apps installed. But, I do have my Internet Explorer settings changed around for security purposes. Maybe if i reset it. I'll work on that and report back. thx!
sscotty 0 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 Ok, Cool! The install scripts executed, everything seems to be working. I did not change my Internet explorer settings. Thank You!
