abhichandra 0 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Hello, I've had a very frustrating experience with Emby since last two weeks. I've been using Plex for a long time but switched to Emby just two weeks back after seeing how seamlessly it integrates with Kodi. For the first couple of days things were good but it started downhill from there. I'm a Linux poweruser so if there is anything that you need from me from the server I'm running it on, please let me know. Running on OpenSuse Tumbleweed OptimusPrime:/var/lib/emby-server/logs # uname -a Linux OptimusPrime 4.4.3-1-default #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 26 09:54:10 UTC 2016 (171b8f1) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux First issue is that if I restart Emby from the web client, it shuts down but doesn't start up. Last few lines of the log: 2016-03-11 00:23:11.7746 Info Main: Executable: /usr/lib/emby-server/restart.sh 2016-03-11 00:23:11.7746 Info Main: Arguments: -programdata /var/lib/emby-server -restartpath /usr/lib/emby-server/restart.sh 2016-03-11 00:23:11.7818 Info Main: Calling Environment.Exit But the actual issue is that I'm losing my Library for some reason. I've done clean remove and reinstall and setup many times but it works for a couple of hours then it stops. I'm using Kodi with Arctic Zypher skin. After setting up the addon, it does connect to it and sets up the library menus (Movies, TVShows etc) but if I try to select the menus, there is nothing in them, it just spins and waits. The libraries that I have setup, show up in the library page but when I expand the side bar by clicking the home button, the Media section is empty. I've also tried to scan the libraries manually multiple times but it doesn't help. The only error I see in the logs is the following: 2016-03-11 00:23:11.0752 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET http://localhost:8096/emby/System/Info. UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/49.0.2623.87 Safari/537.36 2016-03-11 00:23:11.0793 Error HttpAsyncTaskHandler: Error occured while Processing Request: Object reference not set to an instance of an object *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5882.0 Command line: /usr/lib/emby-server/bin/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /var/lib/emby-server -restartpath /usr/lib/emby-server/restart.sh Operating system: Unix 4.4.3.1 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Program data path: /var/lib/emby-server Mono: 4.2.2 (Stable 4.2.2.30/996df3c Fri Feb 12 15:45:05 UTC 2016) Application Path: /usr/lib/emby-server/bin/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe Object reference not set to an instance of an object System.NullReferenceException at ServiceStack.ServiceStackHost.ApplyRequestFiltersSingle (IRequest req, IResponse res, System.Object requestDto) <0x41663d70 + 0x0025a> in <filename unknown>:0 at ServiceStack.ServiceStackHost.ApplyRequestFilters (IRequest req, IResponse res, System.Object requestDto) <0x416638c0 + 0x000b1> in <filename unknown>:0 at ServiceStack.Host.RestHandler.ProcessRequestAsync (IRequest httpReq, IResponse httpRes, System.String operationName) <0x41655b60 + 0x005d0> in <filename unknown>:0 Please let me know if you have seen this and if you have any suggestions.
josch.hh 2 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) +1 i have similar issues. One is that my media "sometimes" can't be browsed anymore after a restart. Seems like maybe emby doesn't clean close the db files... The other issue is mentioned here with a very similar error massage: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32593-unable-to-play-some-movies-via-dlna/ Edited March 14, 2016 by josch.hh
