Montgomery 0 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Dear forum I already found some topics about this issue around the forum and elsewhere. Yet I have tried all the suggestions I could find (concerning Internet Explorer, Windows updates, clearing cache, firewall, ...) and can't seem to get rid of the error. So I am trying to get Emby Server (Windows) on a fresh Windows Server 2012R2 installation (re-installed three times). You can find a screenshot of the error attached to this post: An error occurred trying to download 'http://raw.githubusercontent.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/master/Server/windows/release/MediaBrowser.Server.Installer.application'. As explained elsewhere, there seems to be a problem with the oneclick installer downloading the 'real' installation package from the Emby server. Here is the error log file: The following properties have been set: Property: [AdminUser] = true {boolean} Property: [InstallMode] = HomeSite {string} Property: [NTProductType] = 2 {int} Property: [ProcessorArchitecture] = AMD64 {string} Property: [VersionNT] = 6.3.0 {version} Running checks for package 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (x86 and x64)', phase BuildList Reading value 'Version' of registry key 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full' Read string value '4.5.51641' Setting value '4.5.51641 {string}' for property 'DotNet45Full_TargetVersion' The following properties have been set for package 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (x86 and x64)': Property: [DotNet45Full_TargetVersion] = 4.5.51641 {string} Running checks for command 'DotNetFX45\dotNetFx45_Full_x86_x64.exe' Result of running operator 'ValueEqualTo' on property 'InstallMode' and value 'HomeSite': true Result of checks for command 'DotNetFX45\dotNetFx45_Full_x86_x64.exe' is 'Bypass' Running checks for command 'DotNetFX45\dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe' Result of running operator 'ValueNotEqualTo' on property 'InstallMode' and value 'HomeSite': false Result of running operator 'VersionGreaterThanOrEqualTo' on property 'DotNet45Full_TargetVersion' and value '4.5.50709': true Result of checks for command 'DotNetFX45\dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe' is 'Bypass' 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (x86 and x64)' RunCheck result: No Install Needed Launching Application. On other computers sharing the same network (switch and router/modem) the installer is able to download and install just fine. I also tried it on a virtual Windows Server just to make sure it would run. Is there already a fix for this issue? Or is the full installer also available for download? Thanks in advance! Really looking forward to sharing files with my friends. JJ Edited March 8, 2016 by Montgomery
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Cannot Install Server or MBT/EMC Server is usually "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security". Edited March 8, 2016 by Happy2Play
Montgomery 0 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Cannot Install Server or MBT/EMC Server is usually "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security". Thanks Happy2Play, but this was the first thing I disabled (turned 'Off'). No cigar.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Only other thing someone mentioned in another thread was something they changed in the Security Zones. Are the zones customized in 2012R2?
Montgomery 0 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 I checked the Zones in Internet Options but I'm not sure what to allow and what to disable. Changed Internet, Local and Trusted sites to Low custom levels (e.g. downloads and .NET are fully enabled). Restricted Sites are empty and set to High custom level. How would you change these settings?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Are you sure you turned off IE ESC? As soon as I turned off IE ESC, installed properly.
Montgomery 0 Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Yes, disabled it for both Admins and Users. It just won't work. Going to try it from a new admin account. If it works there, it must be because my current account is corrupted, is it not? In that case, how do I fix a user profile? Thanks for the determination!
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 For my test I just installed a vm of 2012r2 only made that change. Didn't do any updates to see if that had any adverse effect. But if trying a new user doesn't work, then there is something else blocking you from downloading/installing from GitHub.
Montgomery 0 Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Tried another account with administrator permissions, still no luck. Also, It seems I cannot log in to my main Administrator account (which is 'disabled' by default)? It returns a message (in normal/safe mode/cmd net user/...) that password or name are incorrect. But it is the correct name and password... I have no clue what is stopping the installer from downloading. I can ping to Github and Media Browser servers just fine. I can install the software from any other computer in my network. Any more ideas? Would re-installing Windows for the fourth time change anything? I have it all configured and updated now, so not really looking forward to that all over again.
