Live TV seems broken

Been trying today on Android phone and constantly getting an error saying "Playback error. There was an error processing the request. Please try again later."

 

I've tested the TV server in a browser and that's ok. I also tested it with WebMP and again it was fine.

 

No HD would play yesterday on Android TV. Not sure if it's related. I can't get the logs right now but if you need them, let me know and I'll PM them to you.

I'm having same issue, via the Android app, but not via web browser.

 

In the app i pick live TV, choose a show and then play. The emby logo spins, the I get the error:

 

"There was an error processing the request, please try again later"

 

However if I back out of the app and use Chrome browser, it plays back perfectly

Hi, I'm at work at the moment, so I've grabbed it from within the app and created a text file, hope that's okay.

ok, i'm going to make a change that should hit the beta server branch by tomorrow in case you'd like to try that. thanks.

Hi,

 

I've updated the server to Beta 3.0.5890

 

Live tv now working on the Android LG-G4 phone.

Can't test tab yet, will have to wait until tomorrow.

 

BTW Amazingly fast response.

Okay, whilst phone is playing live tv fine, the Tab isn't.

 

It did work when connected to my home wifi, but not here at work.

 

So if it CAN play it (albeit at home) does that mean the android os on it doesn't need updating?

I would think that's correct, yes.

So on the tab, i can log in via the web browser on my work network, and the tv works pretty well, just a slight bit of lag. But perfectly watchable.

As I guess I'm in the minority struggling with it. Especially as it works perfectly on my phone.

Is it likely that any more work will be done on getting this working?

yes we're always working to improve it.

I noticed a huge improvement in live TV yesterday and again this morning.

 

To keep the test constant I never connect my phone via WiFi, just mobile network (LTE/4G) The guide loaded up fairly fast and very little delay starting the TV channel I selected.

 

Emby Server: Latest Beta (1/3/2016)

Emby Android Mobile (Update 1/3/2016)

Phone: HTC One M7 (Rooted with custom ROM)

ISP Upload Speed 18-20 Mbit

 

Thanks for the work you did... whatever it was, it's working well.
