Can't Install

I had the old Emby theater working fine. Tried to install this new version and all I get is an error saying "An error occurred attempting to install Emby.Theater.Installer."

What didn't work? What did you try?

If you are on WHS or some other server Windows version, see the answer here.

 

Otherwise, make sure that an ant-virus program isn't stopping it.

I am on Windows 8.1 I followed the first link and cleared the cache. Since I am not on any server version I could not do the other things. I also disabled my firewall and virus protection.

 

 

I really like the Emby and use it in multiple locations. This is not the only one I use, so I am not stuck, but I do hope I can get it working. 

 

For some reason it cannot not seem to connect to the server. I have a very fast fiber connection. 

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

You can always just grab the zips and run it portable

 

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Theater.Windows/releases/latest

 

Only thing is the portable version does not self-update, so you'll need to grab new versions manually.

I was able to get it to install. I did a reset of Internet Explorer. Not sure why that did anything, but it did.
