grunander 0 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hello I read in the past few days the issues with the server and the bugs that were manifested, I am curious if this is still an issue. I am still having issues with watching movie files from my server on the ROKU player on the TV. We have never had issues with EMBY before and reading the blogs, I understand the server issues and subsequent bugs, Just wondering if the issues continue or if this could be another issue all together. When watching a movie it take longer than normal to load the home screen and then after the movie loads, it will play for about 10 mins and then pause to load again. This repeats for about 20 to 30 minutes, pausing to load about very 5 to 10 mins. Thanks for an information or support
Luke 42083 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi, welcome. There should be no more issues right now. We apologize for the disruption. If you are still seeing issues then the first thing I would do is go into your Roku system settings and make sure the roku firmware is up to date. Roku has released a number of patches recently to address video playback issues. After that, if you're still having issues, we can help get to the bottom of them. Please provide the emby server log as requested here under Media Playback Issues: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.
speechles 2055 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) Make sure you manually update your roku. From the roku homescreen choose settings, then system, then system update. You may be prompted to update your firmware, choose yes. After the system reboots do the system update again until it says your system is up to date. Make sure your emby server is also up to date. Go to manage server, then scheduled tasks and have it check for updates there as well. Once both are up to date this should solve your problems. The issue sounds like transcoding is happening on an underpowered/overtasked cpu. You can also try this app ( http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/24151-theme-blue-neon-night/ ). This app has special settings to minimize transcoding impact. Read through that thread should explain all the features added. Edit: I knew luke would beat me. It was raining here and I lost internet for a bit. @@Luke how do you find all the time to develop, reply here, and still have a life? Do you have a cloning machine? Are you a robot? You are awesome bro. Edited January 5, 2016 by speechles
