Windows Vista - Unable to run setup.exe

Clicking on the setup.exe file causes nothing to happen. System just sits there as if I did nothing.

Would there be an .MSI installer file I could try instead?

Vista isn't officially one of our supported platforms but I believe there are people who have used it successfully.

I would go through the process here: Cannot Install Server or MBT/EMC

I use Emby on a Vista machine.  Dont remember if I had install issues originally but Windows UAC may be your issue.  Try running it as administrator to get it to install. Here's how if you don't know.

How do I run a program as administrator in Windows?

Windows Vista introduced UAC, which helps protect your computer by not allowing any program to have administrative rights unless properly granted. In some situations it may be necessary to run a program as administrator for that program to run or install properly or have all the capabilities that it needs. To run a program as administrator follow the steps below.

Run a program as Administrator
  1. Right-click the program or shortcut you want to run as administrator and choose the option Run as administrator.
  2. Next, click Continue once prompted for your permission.
