Phrosty 0 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I had originally posted this in the Kodi plugin forum but was redirected here (http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/24679-issues-with-kodi-and-metadata/). I've added all my content into Emby and it shows up in Kodi but the metadata isn't downloading in Emby. All of my movies and TV shows in the metadata manager show but without any meta. The only way for me to physically fix this is to manually select each movie and hit "Identify" and then it downloads. I certainly don't want to do this as I have 500 movies and about 100 TV shows saved on an external server. Is there anyway to try and download the metadata again without doing it manually.
Luke 42081 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Define not downloading. For instance, are there screens without metadata? Also, do you have pre-existing nfo files? Lastly, what kind of folder structures do you use? Can you give examples? thanks.
Phrosty 0 Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Luke, Having been a longtime Kodi user I have downloaded most of the artwork into my directories to use. Most of them are showing up with Emby, some aren't. I don't have any NFO files saved as most of that data in the past was pulled from sources like theTVDB or movieDB with Kodi. The file structure is as follows: For Movies: - Movie Name (Year) *Folder* - Movie File For TV Shows - TV Show (folder) - Season # (folder) - Episode. (file) When I view the content in Kodi the movie titles and TV titles show but none of the metadata does. After the advice given in my previous post I found the metadata manager and if I view each individual file and click "identify" it gives me the option to associate the movie/show with the source that provides the metadata. Then it works, but I figure I shouldn't have to do this individually for each file (I hope).
Luke 42081 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 well you shouldn't, but the only thing that can really answer the question are the logs from the initial scan. Maybe there was a failure. When something fails, we currently don't retry and leave it up to you. That's about all i think of. Instead of identifying you could also try just the single click refresh button. if that works for a given title, then you could try it from a top level folder.
Phrosty 0 Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Thanks Luke, I decided uninstalling and reinstalling would be the simplest solution. Done that and now everything is perfect. Wonderful product!
